Hoping someone can help with my Instant air fryer — the little window light has stopped coming on (minor, but annoying). Really hoping it's a cheap fix.

If the air fryer is otherwise heating and running normally, a failed interior light is often a fairly minor fault, but it depends whether the lamp/LED is replaceable on your exact version.

1. Check the simple things first Make sure the light isn’t only meant to come on at certain times, such as when cooking is active or the basket is fully inserted. Try a short cook cycle and look through the window in a dim room.

2. Confirm whether everything else works properly If the display, fan and heater are all normal, the fault is more likely limited to the light itself, its wiring, or a door/basket position switch if fitted.

3. Inspect for obvious issues Isolate the appliance from the mains first. Check whether the basket is seating properly and whether there is any grease, damage or distortion around the front/window area that might affect a switch or connection.

4. Consider the likely internal faults On many modern air fryers the interior light is an LED module rather than a simple bulb. Common causes are: - failed LED/light module - loose or heat-damaged connection - faulty microswitch or control board output

5. Check parts availability before opening it up further For Instant models, internal light parts are not always sold separately, and access can involve removing covers around mains wiring and hot-air ducting. That can turn a “cheap fix” into a non-economic repair.

If you’re comfortable, only do basic visual checks with the appliance isolated from the mains. For internal electrical testing or replacement parts, I’d recommend a qualified engineer. If you want, post whether the fryer heats normally and whether the light ever flickers, and that will help narrow it down.

Safety first — read before actioning advice

  • Never work on a live appliance

Always unplug it at the mains before going near it with any tools.

  • Never attempt gas work

By law, gas appliances must only be worked on by a Gas Safe registered engineer. If your fault involves gas, stop and call a professional — do not attempt it yourself.

  • Watch for sharp edges

Outer panels are smooth, but internal parts are full of sharp machined edges. Wear protective gloves and arm sleeves.

  • Water appliances can leak

Turn off the water supply before disconnecting any hoses.

  • Know your limits

If you're not confident testing or working inside the appliance, STOP and call a professional.
