Common dishwasher problems
Why is my dishwasher not draining?
Standing water in the bottom usually means a blocked filter, a blocked or kinked drain hose, a clogged sump, or a faulty drain pump. Clean the filter and sump first — that fixes most cases. Tell us your model if it does not clear it.
Why aren't my dishes coming out clean?
Poor cleaning is often blocked spray-arm jets, a dirty filter, the wrong detergent or no rinse aid, or items blocking the arms from spinning. Check the spray arms turn freely and that salt and rinse aid are topped up. Let us know what you are seeing.
Why is my dishwasher leaking?
Leaks come from the door seal, a split hose, a loose connection, or too much (or the wrong) detergent causing oversudsing. Where the water appears helps a lot, so describe it and we can help you trace it.
Why won't my dishwasher fill with water?
If it will not fill, check the water supply is on, then the inlet hose and the inlet valve and any anti-flood device in the base. An error code narrows it down fast. Post the code and your model.
What do dishwasher error codes mean?
