Terms of Use

Please read these terms carefully before registering or posting on the Whitegoods Help Forum.

Last updated: 23 June 2026

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the Whitegoods Help Forum at forum.whitegoodshelp.co.uk. Please read them carefully before registering or posting. By creating an account, posting, or otherwise using the Forum, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. These Terms

These Terms of Use (Terms) form a legally binding agreement between you and us. They apply to your use of the Whitegoods Help Forum, including registration, posting, reading, and any associated tools and features (collectively, the Forum).

These Terms apply in addition to our main Whitegoods Help Terms of Use and our Privacy and Cookie Policy, which continue to apply to your use of the wider Whitegoods Help website and services. Where these Forum Terms conflict with the main Terms specifically in relation to the Forum, these Forum Terms take precedence.

By accessing or using the Forum, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not register for or use the Forum.

2. Who We Are

The Whitegoods Help Forum is owned and operated by NAC (Domestic Appliances) Ltd (we, us or our), a company registered in England and Wales (company number 07531907).

Registered office: 4 Calder Close, Calder Park, Wakefield, West Yorkshire, WF4 3BA. Contact: [email protected]

3. What the Forum Is

The Forum is an online community where users can post questions, share experiences, and discuss matters relating to domestic appliances, faults, maintenance and repair.

The Forum is a discussion platform, not a repair service or a professional advice service. Content on the Forum is created by users and, where indicated, by us. It is informational and conversational in nature only.

We host the Forum and provide the platform. We do not author, review, verify or endorse the contributions of other users, except where a post is clearly identified as an official Whitegoods Help post.

4. Eligibility and Age

The Forum is intended for users aged 16 and over. By registering, you confirm that you are at least 16 years old.

If you are under 16, you must not register for or post on the Forum without the supervision and consent of a parent or guardian.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has registered or provided personal data, we will delete it promptly.

5. Your Account and Security

To post on the Forum, you must register for an account. You agree that:

  • The information you provide on registration is accurate and kept up to date
  • You will keep your password confidential and not share your account with anyone
  • You are responsible for all activity that takes place under your account
  • You will notify us promptly at [email protected] if you believe your account has been accessed without your authorisation

You must not register more than one account without our permission, register an account in someone else's name, or use a username that is offensive, impersonates another person, or infringes any third party's rights.

We strongly recommend that you do not use your real full name as your public username, and that you do not publish personal contact details in your posts. See our Forum Privacy Policy for more on the public nature of the Forum.

6. Important Disclaimer — No Professional Advice

All content on the Forum — including posts, comments, replies, any AI-generated responses, and any other output — is for general informational and discussion purposes only.

It does not constitute professional or technical advice and must not be relied upon as a substitute for advice from a qualified appliance repair engineer or other relevant professional.

Posts on the Forum are frequently made by other members of the public who may have no relevant qualifications, training or expertise. We do not check the identity, qualifications or competence of any user, and we do not verify the accuracy of any user's posts.

In particular, you must always consult a qualified engineer before:

  • Attempting any repair involving gas appliances
  • Working on appliances connected to the mains electricity supply
  • Making any repair where safety is a concern

Working on gas and electrical appliances can cause serious injury or death. You must always exercise your own independent judgement and, where appropriate, seek qualified professional assistance. Following advice posted on the Forum is entirely at your own risk.

7. User-Generated Content — Your Responsibility

You are solely responsible for any content you post on the Forum, including text, images, links and any other material (Your Content).

By posting Your Content, you confirm that:

  • It is your own original content, or you have all necessary rights and permissions to post it
  • It is accurate to the best of your knowledge and not misleading
  • It does not infringe the intellectual property rights, privacy rights or any other rights of any third party
  • It is not defamatory, false, abusive, threatening, harassing, obscene, discriminatory or otherwise unlawful
  • It does not contain anyone else's personal data without their consent
  • It does not contain spam, advertising, or promotional material unless we have given written permission

You must not post content that you do not genuinely believe to be true and fair, particularly where it concerns a named business, manufacturer, retailer or individual. Statements of fact about identifiable parties can give rise to legal liability for you as the author.

8. Content from Other Users — Not Verified or Endorsed

Views and information expressed by users on the Forum are those of the individual users, not of Whitegoods Help or NAC (Domestic Appliances) Ltd.

We do not:

  • Verify, endorse or guarantee the accuracy, completeness or quality of any user's posts
  • Vet the qualifications or competence of any user offering advice
  • Accept responsibility for any advice, opinion, recommendation or statement posted by any user

We act as a host of user-generated content. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for content posted by users. Where we are notified of unlawful content and that liability protection applies, we will act expeditiously to review and, where appropriate, remove it (see Section 13).

9. AI-Generated Content and AI Features

AI features we may provide. The Forum may include AI-powered features, such as automated suggestions, summaries, search, or assisted answers. Where it does, the same disclaimer in Section 6 applies: AI outputs are generated automatically, may be inaccurate, incomplete or unsuitable for your situation, do not constitute professional advice, and must not be relied upon. We may also use AI tools to help moderate the Forum and detect prohibited content.

AI-generated content posted by you. If you post content that was generated, in whole or in part, by an AI tool, you remain fully responsible for it under these Terms as if you had written it yourself. You must not present AI-generated content as the verified opinion of a qualified professional, and you must not use AI tools to mass-produce posts, spam the Forum, or generate misleading or false content.

We may, but are not obliged to, label, restrict or remove content we reasonably believe to be AI-generated.

10. Acceptable Use and Community Rules

You agree to use the Forum honestly, responsibly and lawfully. You must not:

  • Post anything unlawful, defamatory, false, abusive, threatening, harassing, hateful, discriminatory, obscene or otherwise objectionable
  • Post anyone's personal or private information (including your own contact details we advise against, and never another person's)
  • Impersonate any person or organisation, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or organisation
  • Post spam, advertising, affiliate links, or solicit business, without our prior written permission
  • Post content that infringes any copyright, trade mark or other intellectual property right
  • Use automated tools, bots or scrapers to extract, copy or harvest content or user data from the Forum
  • Use the Forum, or content or data obtained from it, to develop, train or improve a competing product or service
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Forum, other accounts, or our systems
  • Upload viruses, malware or any harmful code
  • Use the Forum in any way that disrupts, damages or impairs it or other users' use of it

11. Your Content — Licence to Us

You retain ownership of Your Content. However, by posting Your Content on the Forum, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, sub-licensable and transferable licence to use, store, copy, reproduce, adapt, edit, publish, display, distribute and otherwise exploit Your Content for any purpose connected with our business, including:

  • Hosting and displaying it on the Forum and across the Whitegoods Help website
  • Editing, reformatting, summarising or republishing it (for example as articles, knowledge base entries or Q&A guides)
  • Using it to develop, improve, operate and train our content, tools and AI systems (in anonymised or aggregated form where it constitutes personal data — see our Forum Privacy Policy)
  • Promoting the Forum and our services

This licence survives the closure of your account and the deletion of your posts to the extent necessary for our legitimate business and legal purposes. We are not obliged to attribute Your Content to you.

You confirm that you have all rights necessary to grant this licence, and you waive any moral rights in Your Content to the fullest extent permitted by law.

12. Moderation, Removal and Our Rights

We may, at our sole discretion and without notice:

  • Edit, move, lock, hide or remove any content
  • Suspend, restrict, or permanently close any account
  • Refuse registration to any person

We are under no obligation to monitor the Forum, but we reserve the right to do so. We may use both human moderators and automated tools. We do not guarantee that all objectionable content will be identified or removed, and the presence of content on the Forum does not imply our approval of it.

We are not liable to you for any action we take, or decline to take, in moderating the Forum, including removing or editing Your Content or closing your account.

13. Reporting Content and Notice of Complaints

If you believe any content on the Forum is unlawful, defamatory, infringes your rights, or breaches these Terms, please report it to us promptly at [email protected], providing:

  • A link to the specific post or content
  • A clear explanation of why you believe it is unlawful or in breach of these Terms
  • Your contact details

We will review valid reports and take such action as we consider appropriate, which may include removing the content. We rely on our hosting protections under applicable law and will act expeditiously where we are properly notified of genuinely unlawful content.

14. Historic and Migrated Content

Some content on the Forum may have been created before 23 June 2026 or migrated from previous forums or websites (including archived discussions originally hosted elsewhere). While we aim to review and improve such content over time, we:

  • Do not guarantee its accuracy, completeness or currency
  • Accept no liability for any reliance placed on it

You should treat all historic and migrated content as general background only and verify any critical information with an up-to-date professional source.

15. Use at Your Own Risk

Subject to Section 16 below, any action you take based on content obtained from the Forum — including user posts, AI outputs, or links to third parties — is entirely at your own risk.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for damage to appliances or property, financial loss, or any other loss or damage arising from reliance on Forum content.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for personal injury or death caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all liability for any direct or indirect loss arising from use of, or inability to use, the Forum, including loss of data, profits or goodwill, reliance on any content (including content posted by other users) or AI output, and any dispute between you and another user.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by our negligence
  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
  • Any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law

If you are a consumer, these Terms do not affect your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other applicable consumer protection legislation.

17. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless NAC (Domestic Appliances) Ltd, its officers, employees and agents from and against any claims, losses, costs, damages or expenses (including reasonable legal costs) arising from Your Content, your breach of these Terms, or your misuse of the Forum. This includes, without limitation, any claim brought by a third party in relation to content you have posted (for example a claim of defamation or intellectual property infringement).

18. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in the Forum platform, design, branding and our own content belong to us or our licensors. Nothing in these Terms grants you any rights in our intellectual property except as expressly stated.

You may view and use the Forum for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not reproduce, republish, distribute or commercially exploit Forum content (including other users' content) at scale, or copy, extract or scrape content or data.

19. Third-Party Content and Links

The Forum may contain links to third-party websites, products or services posted by us or by users. We do not endorse those third parties, guarantee the accuracy of their content, or accept liability for their products or services. Your use of any third-party website or service is subject to that third party's own terms.

20. Availability of the Forum

We aim to make the Forum available at all times but do not guarantee that it will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free. We may suspend, withdraw, restrict or modify the Forum, or any part of it, at any time without notice.

21. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or close your account, or restrict your access to the Forum, at any time if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms or where we consider it necessary to protect the Forum, other users or us.

You may stop using the Forum and request closure of your account at any time. Closure of your account does not affect the licence granted in Section 11, our right to retain content for legal and operational reasons, or any rights or liabilities accrued before closure.

22. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when published, and the date at the top of this page will be updated accordingly. Your continued use of the Forum following any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to any change, you must stop using the Forum.

23. General

Entire agreement. These Terms, together with our main Terms of Use and our Privacy and Cookie Policy / Forum Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us in relation to your use of the Forum.

Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful, void or unenforceable, that provision shall be deemed severable and shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions.

Waiver. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.

Consumer rights. Nothing in these Terms is intended to limit or exclude any rights you have as a consumer under English law, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

24. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Forum shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except that if you are a consumer resident in another jurisdiction, you may also benefit from any mandatory protections afforded by the law of that jurisdiction.
