I have a Beko

At the end of the cycle after the spin, it adds water, drains. Adds water, drains adds water again and drains again.

It leaves a pool of water in the bottom of the machine.

Can anyone help me?

What you describe is often the machine trying to complete its final rinse/empty sequence but not quite “seeing” that it has emptied properly, or not draining fast enough.

Before checking anything internal, isolate the washing machine from the mains.

1. Check the drain filter and pump area Open the filter flap, remove the pump filter and clear out lint, coins, hair grips etc. Also look inside at the pump impeller and make sure it turns freely and isn’t jammed.

2. Check the drain hose installation Make sure the drain hose isn’t pushed too far down the standpipe, kinked, squashed, or partially blocked. If the hose is too low or badly fitted it can confuse the fill/drain process.

3. Check how well it drains Run a drain/spin cycle and watch the waste outlet. If water comes out slowly, the pump may be weak or there may be a restriction in the hose or plumbing.

4. Check for pressure system problems A blocked pressure chamber or pressure switch hose can cause odd overfill/extra rinse/drain behaviour and leave water in the base of the drum. If the filter and drainage are clear, this becomes a strong possibility.

5. Consider whether it is only a small sump of water A little water below the drum/pump area can be normal, but a visible pool left in the drum bottom is not.

If the simple checks don’t cure it, the likely suspects are a partial blockage, faulty drain pump, or pressure sensing fault. If internal testing is needed, it’s best to use a qualified appliance engineer. Any mains electrical work should be left to a professional.

Safety first — read before actioning advice

  • Never work on a live appliance

Always unplug it at the mains before going near it with any tools.

  • Never attempt gas work

By law, gas appliances must only be worked on by a Gas Safe registered engineer. If your fault involves gas, stop and call a professional — do not attempt it yourself.

  • Watch for sharp edges

Outer panels are smooth, but internal parts are full of sharp machined edges. Wear protective gloves and arm sleeves.

  • Water appliances can leak

Turn off the water supply before disconnecting any hoses.

  • Know your limits

If you're not confident testing or working inside the appliance, STOP and call a professional.
