Beko E18 Fault
HI,
Just a quick one...
My Beko has developed the E18 fault. I Only realised when I came to put next wash on and it would not start. So it must have finished it's last cycle.
Followed all the advice of cleaning filter, pipes etc.. and all looks clear.
Have done the factory reset, but the machine refuses to go through the test cycle, just shows the E18 error on the display.
Is there a way to reset the fault or Is this more serious than just clearing filters, pipes...
Regards
Andy

AI-generated from this discussion
This thread was marked as solved. Here's a summary of the problem and the fix, generated from the discussion below.
Beko washing machine showing E18 would not start
- The problem
- The washing machine displayed E18 and would not start a new cycle. The owner had already cleaned the filter and pipework and attempted a factory reset, but the machine would not enter the test cycle and continued to show E18.
- Likely cause
- The strongest evidence in the discussion points to an intermittent or faulty door interlock/door lock. Suggestions about load balance, restarting the machine, or refitting the detergent drawer were not confirmed as lasting fixes.
- What fixed it
- Replace the door lock/interlock. In follow-up posts from users with the same fault, replacing the faulty door lock restored operation. One user noted the machine worked again after the lock was changed, although the E18 indication reportedly still remained on display.
- Checks to try
- Cleaned filter
- Checked/cleaned pipes for blockages
- Tried factory reset
- Machine would not run the test cycle
- Detergent drawer was removed and refitted
- Door lock/interlock was replaced
- Parts or tools mentioned
- Door lock/interlock
Safety: Do not bypass the door interlock. Further diagnosis should be carried out by a suitably qualified appliance engineer.

I don't think you need this anymore, given that you've left that message so long ago, but I solved this E 18 problem by taking out the tray where the detergent comes and putting it back, making sure it's placed properly.
Hello! And thank you!
An update to what I wrote before: that didn't actually solve the problem. The issue was with a faulty door lock which sometimes worked, sometimes didn't. We changed it and now the machine works. The E18 error is still there, though...
Hi, I had the same issue with a Beko washing machine. Tried cleaning and checking for blockages but nothing. E18 according to many sites is apparently about an uneven wash and the advice was not any good ( turning machine off and on, taking some of the washing out to reduce the load, taking the detergent tray out and back in) and didn’t solve the problem. I read that it might be related to the door (inter)lock and replaced this, which was fairly easy. Closed the door. Turned the machine on and it seemed to finish doing something. Then it was good to go. Problem solved. Hope this helps others.
