Waste pipe won't drain water
Hello,
I have brought a new washing machine for my new build house.
I have installed it but it's not draining. I believe I have located the problem to the connection under my sink.
The pump works because when I push the black piece that's inside the waste pipe in when it's draining water squirts out it's just not doing it on the connection I can't hear anything.
Do any of you know how to resolve this ?
Many thanks in advance

It does sound very likely to be the sink waste connection rather than the washing machine itself.
Before checking anything, isolate the appliance from the mains.
1. Check for a blanking plug in the sink spigot On many new sink traps, the washing machine hose connects to a side spigot that is factory sealed. If this blanking piece hasn’t been knocked or cut out, the machine cannot pump into it. This is the most common cause on a new installation.
2. Check the “black piece” you mentioned If you mean a non-return flap or insert inside the spigot, it may be stuck, fitted wrongly, or not opening properly under pump pressure. Remove the hose and inspect the spigot carefully for any insert, cap, or obstruction.
3. Check the drain hose connection Make sure the hose is pushed fully onto the spigot and secured with a proper hose clip. If it’s only partly fitted, it can restrict flow.
4. Check for a kink or height issue The drain hose must not be kinked or crushed behind the machine. Also make sure it isn’t routed too high above the manufacturer’s recommended drain height.
5. Test the sink waste itself If the trap or waste under the sink is partially blocked, the washing machine may struggle to discharge properly.
If this is a brand new house, it would not be unusual for the trap connection to have been left sealed. If you’re unsure, a plumber can confirm it quickly. For any internal electrical work, use a qualified engineer.

Safety first — read before actioning advice
Never work on a live appliance
Always unplug it at the mains before going near it with any tools.
Never attempt gas work
By law, gas appliances must only be worked on by a Gas Safe registered engineer. If your fault involves gas, stop and call a professional — do not attempt it yourself.
Watch for sharp edges
Outer panels are smooth, but internal parts are full of sharp machined edges. Wear protective gloves and arm sleeves.
Water appliances can leak
Turn off the water supply before disconnecting any hoses.
Know your limits
If you're not confident testing or working inside the appliance, STOP and call a professional.
