Beko YT124PT44MW no programme will run

Hi all,

Hoping someone could help with a problematic Beko WY124PT44MW inverter washing machine.

Basically the machine will power on but the programmes will not work. Strangely enough when put on the cotton wash, the door will lock, drain pump will operate and then the programme will cease to progress any further. For any other programme the door will lock only and the drain pump will NOT operate.

I put the machine into diagnostics mode and test will display on the lcd screen however the diagnostics mode will not show any error codes nor allow me to perform the diagnostics on the machine.

The door lock appears to be working, the drain pump and element all appear fine and i even checked the drain from the bottom of the drum. Pcb board has been inspected and no obvious sign of damage.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, from what you’ve described the machine is getting as far as initial start-up, but then not moving on into the fill/tumble stages. That usually points to a basic “permission” missing rather than a simple pump or heater fault.

Before checking anything internal, isolate the appliance from the mains.

1. Check the water supply first Make sure the tap is fully on and the inlet hose isn’t kinked. Then check the inlet filter gauze at the valve end for blockage. If the machine can’t detect water coming in, it may lock the door, run or attempt a drain, then sit doing nothing.

2. Listen for the inlet valve Start a wash and listen carefully after the door locks/drain phase. If there is no humming or attempt to fill, the inlet valve, wiring, or control signal to it becomes suspect.

3. Check the pressure system A blocked pressure chamber or faulty pressure switch/sensor can make the washer think it is already full, so it won’t fill or advance. Check the pressure hose for blockage, splits, or soap residue. This is a very common cause of “locks, drains, then stops”.

4. Re-check the drain filter and pump condition Even if the pump runs, make sure it is actually clearing properly and the impeller isn’t loose on the shaft. Some programmes may behave differently depending on what the control board thinks the water level is.

5. Inspect wiring carefully Pay particular attention to wiring between the main PCB, door lock, pressure sensor and inlet valve. On inverter models, an intermittent connection can cause odd non-start symptoms without obvious board damage.

6. Diagnostics not responding If test mode enters but won’t run steps or show faults, that can indicate a control issue, but I wouldn’t condemn the PCB yet. Pressure sensing or supply issues can still confuse self-test.

If you can confirm whether it actually tries to fill with water, that would narrow it down a lot. If internal live testing or PCB diagnosis is needed, it’s best left to a qualified engineer.

Safety first — read before actioning advice

  • Never work on a live appliance

Always unplug it at the mains before going near it with any tools.

  • Never attempt gas work

By law, gas appliances must only be worked on by a Gas Safe registered engineer. If your fault involves gas, stop and call a professional — do not attempt it yourself.

  • Watch for sharp edges

Outer panels are smooth, but internal parts are full of sharp machined edges. Wear protective gloves and arm sleeves.

  • Water appliances can leak

Turn off the water supply before disconnecting any hoses.

  • Know your limits

If you're not confident testing or working inside the appliance, STOP and call a professional.
