Beko vacuum cleaner brush bar not spinning, any ideas?
I've got a Beko vacuum cleaner (PowerClean VRT94929VI) that's 3 years old and the floor head / brush roll has stopped turning. Would really appreciate any advice before I fork out for a callout.

If the cleaner still has suction but the brush bar has stopped, the fault is often in the floor head rather than the main machine. A few sensible checks should narrow it down.
1. Isolate it first Switch it off and disconnect it from the charger/mains before taking anything apart or putting fingers near the brush roll.
2. Check for jammed hair and thread Remove the brush bar if your floor head allows it and clear away wrapped hair, cotton and carpet fibres from both ends. Also check the end caps/bearings are free and not seized.
3. Spin the brush by hand With the brush removed or accessible, it should turn fairly freely. If it feels stiff, gritty or locked, the roller bearings/end supports may have failed.
4. Inspect the drive system On some heads the brush is belt-driven, on others it uses a small motor in the head. If there is a belt, check whether it has snapped, stretched or come off. If it is motor-driven, check the wiring connection from the wand to the head and look for burnt smells or obvious damage.
5. Check the nozzle airway and cut-out A blockage in the floor head can overload the brush system and some models will stop the roller to protect the motor. Clear the suction channel fully.
6. Try all settings If your model has carpet/hard floor or power settings, test each one. A faulty switch or head control board can also stop brush operation.
If the roller is free and clean but still gets no drive, the likely suspects are the floor-head motor, wiring, switch, or control board. Those parts are usually more economical to diagnose before replacing at random. For any internal electrical testing, use a qualified engineer.

Never work on a live appliance
Always unplug it at the mains before going near it with any tools.
Never attempt gas work
By law, gas appliances must only be worked on by a Gas Safe registered engineer. If your fault involves gas, stop and call a professional — do not attempt it yourself.
Watch for sharp edges
Outer panels are smooth, but internal parts are full of sharp machined edges. Wear protective gloves and arm sleeves.
Water appliances can leak
Turn off the water supply before disconnecting any hoses.
Know your limits
If you're not confident testing or working inside the appliance, STOP and call a professional.
