Bosch fridge freezer water dispenser not working

A stopped water dispenser on a Bosch fridge freezer is often something simple, but it helps to narrow down whether it’s a blockage, a frozen line, or a dispenser/mechanical fault.

Before checking anything internal, isolate the appliance from the mains.

1. Check the water tank/reservoir If your model uses a manual refill tank inside the fridge, make sure it is properly seated and the outlet valve underneath the tank is opening correctly. If the tank isn’t sitting quite right, no water will come through.

2. Try the dispenser lever and listen Press the dispenser paddle/lever and listen closely. If you hear a click but no water, that suggests the valve/lever is operating but water isn’t getting through. If it feels loose or does nothing, the dispenser mechanism itself may be faulty or disconnected.

3. Check for a frozen water line This is very common. If the fridge is running a bit too cold, the small pipe to the dispenser can freeze. Try slightly increasing the fridge temperature setting and leave it 24 hours. If water then returns, that points strongly to freezing rather than a failed part.

4. Inspect for blockage or airlock If there is a removable tank, empty and refill it, then try dispensing several times. Also check the nozzle/spout for limescale or debris.

5. Look for signs of damage If accessible, inspect the water pipework around the tank/dispenser area for kinks, splits, or a disconnected tube.

If none of that changes it, the fault may be with the dispenser valve/mechanism or internal pipework. Any mains-related testing or internal electrical checks are best left to a qualified appliance engineer.
