Bosch washer dryer stuck on 0.01

For some reason my machine has stopped working, it is stuck on 0.01 and I can't change the cycle or do anything. I last used it on Tuesday and remember it had accidentally gone on to the drying cycle. I think I turned it off and waited for the door to open. When I tried to use it it was stuck on 28 minutes. I let it dry empty but now it's stuck on 0.01. Does anyone have any advice to proffer?

It sounds like the programme may not have ended properly, or the controls have latched up after the accidental drying cycle. On Bosch washer dryers, “0:01” often just means the machine thinks there is 1 minute left, rather than pointing to one definite failed part.

Try these checks:

1. Do a full reset Turn the selector to Off, unplug the machine from the mains for at least 10–15 minutes, then plug it back in and try again. Sometimes the control board simply needs a proper power reset.

2. Check for child lock / control lock If the display is lit but you can’t change programmes, the control lock may be on. Look for a key or padlock symbol on the fascia. On many Bosch models you press and hold two buttons together for a few seconds to cancel it. The exact buttons vary by model.

3. Try a drain/spin or rinse programme If the machine thinks there is still water inside, it may refuse to finish the previous cycle. Listen for the drain pump. If it hums but does not clear water, check the pump filter for fluff, coins or debris.

4. Check the door lock behaviour If the door lock is faulty or not reporting correctly, the machine can stay stuck at the end of a cycle. See whether it locks and unlocks normally when you start a programme.

5. If it still stays on 0:01 The likely areas are the control board, door interlock, or a drying-related issue such as a thermostat/sensor not resetting properly.

Isolate the appliance from the mains before inspecting any internal parts. If the fault remains after the above, it would be best to have a qualified appliance engineer test it properly, especially for any mains-related internal checks.

Safety first — read before actioning advice

  • Never work on a live appliance

Always unplug it at the mains before going near it with any tools.

  • Never attempt gas work

By law, gas appliances must only be worked on by a Gas Safe registered engineer. If your fault involves gas, stop and call a professional — do not attempt it yourself.

  • Watch for sharp edges

Outer panels are smooth, but internal parts are full of sharp machined edges. Wear protective gloves and arm sleeves.

  • Water appliances can leak

Turn off the water supply before disconnecting any hoses.

  • Know your limits

If you're not confident testing or working inside the appliance, STOP and call a professional.
