Beko Washing machine / dryer fills with water and wont continue to wash just stops. Tap symbol appears with line through it. It will spin and drain still.
Hi all after alot of looking around trying to work out a fix for this, im in two minds as to just buy a new machine. Ive replaced the pump and taken the back off. I have replaced the water hose and checked the waste pipe too. The belt is still on. It will rinse and drain but will not complete any wash cycle- it cuts out after 2-3 minutes. Any help would be so greatly received. Thanks in advance.
Machine-- Beko WDIX8543100 5 years old. £430

That symbol is saying water isn't getting into the machine. Try pouring a kettle full or so of water into the soap dispenser drawer to see if you can raise the level and see if the washer starts. If so you need to investigate why not enough water is getting in.

Hi there. A modern washing machine should given error code if it detects an error during the wash cycle and aborts. Are there any flashing lights, or visible error codes?
As K mentioned above a blockage in the pressure system can cause problems though on the wash cycle it should cause overfilling. In other words, if the pressure system is blocked and the washing machine is on a wash cycle it should fill up with water and then when it receives the signal from the pressure switch that enough water is in the drum it should stop filling with water and start to wash.
So if the pressure system is blocked, the programme will not receive a signal and should time out on fill. This should cause it to drain out the water and stop but it should display an error code. When you say it cuts out do you mean it literally cuts out in that the display goes dead leaving the water inside?

I might have missed something but to me these symptoms point to the issue being a faulty float switch which is not reading water pressure (ie water level) in the drum correctly
This is usually due to a blockage such soap build up in the (clear) hose connecting the drum to the float switch
To check this pull off the hose where it connects to the drum and blow gently into it, you should hear a click - click noise as the float switch registers first the normal and then high water levels simulated by air pressure from your lungs
I've attached a picture of a typical Beko pressure switch, feel free to ask further questions
Kind regards

Hi. I have exactly the same problem with my BEKo. Did you find a solution?
Natalie
The motor must be working, as it spins, I've had the back off it and checked the belt too which seems sound
Hi, yes it does spin and also drain the water when put onto that cycle
It sounds like the motor isn’t running. Once full of water it should be washing with the drum rotating back and forth. Does the motor run when on a spin only cycle?

And it just sits there, the tap symbol appears and I can then open the door (with all the water in it)
thanks for the reply I can see the water Is in the drum and fills up on the glass and just sits there, covering maybe a quarter of the glass window
Is it possible the water is going into the drum and siphoning out through the drain hose? If the washer is taking in water it should fill up in the drum and start washing.

Thanks for your time. Water is filing the drum and the draw has water bubbling/ gurgling in it. I poured a couple of kettles into it after id started the cycle and it didn't do anything. The program stops as soon as the tap symbol appears, I can the restart the cycle and it will further fill with water it seems. I replaced the inlet valve this evening too to no success. Any other ideas before I have to buy another one? many thanks
