Hoover 300 H3D 496TE washer dryer - Dryer fan not working
Hello, This is my first post. I have a Hoover washer dryer (H-Wash 300 H3D 496TE NFC 9 kg Washer Dryer) which doesn't dry the cloths. I have checked the Heaters, TOCs and those were good. But the fan is not working. However if I give power to the fan separately it works. (Disconnect the fan terminals from W Machine and gave direct 230v AC supply to the motor.) So what can be the issue? How to fix it? Other than this issue everything else works fine.

Hi there. If the fan runs okay with alternative power then obviously it's not receiving powered during the drying cycle. It's theoretically possible but a lot more unlikely that it is not being sent the power. It is much more likely that it is being sent the power but there is a connection fault somewhere. So the first thing to do is to check all of the connections to the fan from the plug that plugs into it and the connectors inside the fans connection plug. Gently pull on the wires to see if they are seated properly.
After that it's a question of checking the physical condition and then the continuity of both the wires going from the fan connector all the way to the PCB with a multimeter.

Ideally a proper electrical connector that is crimped with a special tool would be better, but hopefully your fix will be okay as long as it is not subject to any bending.

Thank you very much for the advice. I clean the wire about one inch from both part. Then twisted on each other, soldered and taped. Finally loosely attached to the wire bundle with a tape.
Excellent news well done. Yes that looks like very poor design. You need to be very careful as to how you repair this because obviously when you connect the wires together they will be much weaker than before because a connector is always a weak point. I think you may be able to pull out the ends of the other two wires in the harness and reroute them so they are not under any strain.
Make sure they cannot snag on anything.

Thank you very much. I found it. The broken wire. Actually it doesn't visible. But I check the wire path by pulling it gently. I think this happen due to vibration. Means its a manufacturing fault. That wire should have more length before the wire tie. same thing could happen to the other wire too. The washing machine is only 13 months old.
