Bosch Logixx Washer/Dryer bra wire behind drum repair

Advice needed, how difficult is this repair?

A bra wire has gone behind the drum, there is no sight or feel of it from the inside of the drum.

As I rotate the drum the ticking noise stays in the same place, in the 11 o’clock area.

The back of the washer requires a tool to remove, a tool I haven't got.

I have taken the bottom front part off and the top lid.

My question here is can I do this myself if I get the tool to remove the back?

Or should I get an engineer in?

Thanks in advance

If it’s just the star screwdriver needed they are very cheap. Called Torc screwdriver set.

Check this for tips - How to remove something stuck under the drum

Nice one. Could a small piece have broken off? Anyway hopefully it’ll be ok now.

I’ve got the wire, finally, using stragicially placed hair grips to inch it forward from inside the drum to within reach of sump hole, it was trapped on heater element. Very bent.

.

The drum still makes a small tick noise when but I’ve checked the heater element for any kinks the best I can & I’m going to reassemble and just see how it goes.

(Losing the will now…)

Thankyou for the advice

It could be trapped somewhere totally inaccessible. All tips that I know are in my article so if you’ve tried everything in my article you’ve done all you can.

There is a possibility that it won’t cause any problems , not serious ones anyway. Though it could eventually cause a blockage in the pump, or potentially end up snagging laundry. But it could also just not cause any problems other than the noise. Impossible to know but it’s not strong enough to damage anything other than laundry if it managed to snag stuff.

So the sump hose is now off,

the washer is on its front,

the bra wire is not visible with a torch, ticks when the drum is turned, it seems stuck and I think it is possibly in the rear wall of the drum.

I’ve run a long Demi John cleaning wire around the inside from the sump hole to try and locate or dislodge, with someone else looking inside the drum to see if it pokes through.

No joy.

Any suggestions?

This is a washer dryer and is far more complicated internally than I’ve seen before (not that I’m an expert)

i agree with Andy it should be simple enough to release the drum but you may nee a second pair if hands to put it back in. im no expert I'm just dipping my toe into the appliance repair game (just out of nerdy interest) but generally i find the mechanical side easy to deal with just lifting the drum in i find simpler with a second set of hands
