Help - Bosch oven not reaching temperature
I've got a Bosch oven that's just over a year old and it heats a little but never gets up to the set temperature and takes forever. Really hoping it's a cheap fix.

If the oven is warming but never properly reaching temperature, the most common causes are a failed heating element, a faulty temperature sensor/thermostat circuit, or occasionally a function selector issue. On a Bosch just over a year old, I’d start with the simpler checks first.
1. Check which oven function you’re using Try conventional oven, fan oven and grill separately. If one mode works much better than another, that helps narrow it down. For example, a fan oven with little heat often points to the circular fan element at the back.
2. Look for a failed element A heating element can fail partially or completely and still allow the oven to get slightly warm. On fan ovens, inspect the rear element (behind the back panel inside the oven) for splits, bulges or burn marks. A grill or base element fault can also cause very slow heating.
3. Check the fan is actually running properly If it’s a fan oven, make sure the oven fan is turning and blowing heat around. A stalled or weak fan can give poor heating performance.
4. Test the temperature accuracy Use an oven thermometer if you have one. If the oven heats, but stops well below the set temperature, the sensor or control may be reading incorrectly.
5. Consider warranty/consumer rights At just over a year old, it may still be worth contacting Bosch, especially if the fault appeared unusually early.
Important: isolate the appliance from the mains before removing panels or inspecting internal parts. If testing live components, replacing wiring, or diagnosing the control system is needed, use a qualified appliance engineer.

Safety first — read before actioning advice
Never work on a live appliance
Always unplug it at the mains before going near it with any tools.
Never attempt gas work
By law, gas appliances must only be worked on by a Gas Safe registered engineer. If your fault involves gas, stop and call a professional — do not attempt it yourself.
Watch for sharp edges
Outer panels are smooth, but internal parts are full of sharp machined edges. Wear protective gloves and arm sleeves.
Water appliances can leak
Turn off the water supply before disconnecting any hoses.
Know your limits
If you're not confident testing or working inside the appliance, STOP and call a professional.
