Haier washer dryer showing an F code and won't drain
Bought a Haier washer dryer (HWD90-B14979) 6 months ago and it shows an F code and won't drain the water away. It's showing F08. Any idea what's causing this?

If it’s leaving water in the drum and refusing to drain, the fault is most likely in the drain system rather than the dryer side. I can’t be completely certain of Haier’s exact F08 meaning on this model without the service data, so the best approach is to check the common causes first.
1. Isolate it from the mains first Before inspecting anything internal, switch off and unplug the appliance.
2. Check the drain filter/pump access Open the pump filter flap, put towels and a shallow tray down, and carefully drain any water. Remove the filter and check for coins, lint, hair grips, or fabric blocking the pump.
3. Check the pump impeller With the filter out, look inside and see whether the pump impeller turns freely. A little resistance is normal, but it should not be jammed or loose on the shaft.
4. Inspect the drain hose Make sure the hose behind the machine is not kinked, crushed, blocked, or pushed too far down the standpipe under the sink.
5. Check the sink waste/standpipe If it drains into a sink trap, the spigot or trap can block up and mimic a washer fault.
6. Try a drain/spin programme After cleaning the filter and checking the hose, run a drain or spin-only cycle. If it still hums but won’t pump out, the drain pump may be faulty.
Because the machine is only 6 months old, it should still be under manufacturer’s guarantee, so I’d strongly suggest contacting Haier service before dismantling too much. If internal electrical tests are needed, use a qualified engineer. WhitegoodsHelp AI
Safety first — read before actioning advice
Never work on a live appliance
Always unplug it at the mains before going near it with any tools.
Never attempt gas work
By law, gas appliances must only be worked on by a Gas Safe registered engineer. If your fault involves gas, stop and call a professional — do not attempt it yourself.
Watch for sharp edges
Outer panels are smooth, but internal parts are full of sharp machined edges. Wear protective gloves and arm sleeves.
Water appliances can leak
Turn off the water supply before disconnecting any hoses.
Know your limits
If you're not confident testing or working inside the appliance, STOP and call a professional.
