Common coffee machine problems
Why is my coffee machine not pumping water?
No water flow is usually an airlock, a limescaled or clogged pump, a blocked path, or a failing pump. Try priming or running the hot water function and descale it first, as limescale is the top cause. Tell us the model and what happens when it tries to pump.
Why is my coffee machine leaking?
Leaks come from worn seals or O-rings, a cracked water tank or its valve, or a drip tray overflowing. Where the water appears tells you a lot, so describe it and the community can help.
Why won't my coffee machine heat up?
No heat is usually a failed thermoblock or boiler, a thermal cut-out, or a control fault. Some machines also refuse to brew until they have been descaled. Tell us the brand, model, and any warning lights.
Why is my coffee machine stuck asking to descale?
If the descale light stays on after descaling, the cycle often was not fully completed or reset, or the machine needs a second pass with a proper descaler. Tell us the model and we can point you to the reset steps.
Why has my bean-to-cup grinder stopped working?
Grinders jam on a stray stone in the beans, oily or damp beans clogging the burrs, or a failed grinder motor. Many have a safety cut-out when jammed. Tell us the model and whether you can hear the motor try to turn.
