Bosch Leaks On Rinse / Freshen Up Cycle

Bad times with my Bosch ( I think its a classix, about 5 years old ) Will run the 30 and 40 C wash programs ok but when its on the rinse freshen-up cycle it fills about 4 inches up the glass door and then water comes out from underneath suddenly and quite fast. I put newspaper underneath and the leak is coming from the front / door seal area. I don't see why the machine is leak free on the wash cycles and then leaks on the freshen up cycle.

I was told this cycle uses a different solenoid valve which could be leaking!? I did read the leak finding tips guide but the closest possible cause might be a cracked drum? The things always got coins and lighters going around in it. I don't see a split in the door seal and I can't see why there would be a separate fill solenoid. Anybody got any ideas? If I flood the utility one more time I'll be washed up.

A leak is something only someone with the machine can find because it relies on either observing where the water is coming from, observing evidence from water and detergent marks and or finding a crack or hole which might account for it. A washing machine can leak from virtually anywhere. My leaking washing machine help guide should give all information needed to find the leak as it's exactly how I would deal with finding a leak.

The only thing I can get from the description is that the leak is coming from somewhere relatively high up. The main suspects as you have mentioned are the door seal or the outer tub but if you can't see anything they could be holes or cracks at the front of the outer drum where you can't see.
