Servis M6011s Washing Machine Review
SERVIS M6011S WASHING MACHINE REVIEW
This washing machine looks surprisingly solid and is heavy. It’s a budget washing machine though and the weight is mostly accounted for by the heavy concrete tub weights. The kick strip at the front base of the washing machine rattles and suffers from vibration on spin on the one I tested.
This washing machine has a pump filter but no pump filter drain hose ( a small rubber tube with an end stop, where you can drain the water into a bowl if it ever breaks down full of water) You can at least regularly check and clean the filter, but those that don’t will have difficulty not flooding the kitchen if they want to remove and clean a blocked filter that has resulted in a washing machine full of water.
WHAT I LIKE ABOUT IT
The Servis M6011S has a nice control display and selector switch, which is simple to use. Its 1100 spin speed is slow by today’s standards but it was perfectly adequate for us all during the 1980s and 1100 is more stable and quieter. The suspension seems solid for the price and the pump is also surprisingly quiet.
WHAT I DISLIKE ABOUT IT
One piece cabinet makes major repairs more difficult but to be honest at this washing machine’s price (less than £200) it’s probably not going to be an issue. That is, as with many other washing machines these days, anything major going wrong results in the washing machine being scrapped as it’s almost as expensive to fix than to replace. Servis have now gone bust anyway!

If you’re asking whether the Servis M6011S was a decent buy, I’d say it was very much a basic budget machine with a few better-than-expected points, but also the usual compromises you’d expect at that price.
1. Build quality It does feel solid and heavy, but as you’ve noted, a lot of that is down to the concrete balance weights rather than premium construction. That said, extra weight can still help stability on spin.
2. Everyday use The controls are straightforward, which is a real plus for many people. An 1100 spin isn’t especially fast by modern standards, but it is perfectly usable and can mean less noise and vibration than some higher-spin budget models.
3. Vibration and noise The rattling lower kick strip is a common sort of budget-machine issue. If one is vibrating badly, check it is level on the floor and that all feet are adjusted properly. A flimsy trim panel can make a machine seem worse than it really is.
4. Maintenance Having a pump filter is useful, but no emergency drain hose is inconvenient. If the machine blocks while full of water, filter access can be messy. Anyone opening the filter should be prepared with towels and a shallow tray. Isolate the appliance from the mains first before inspecting any internal parts.
5. Long-term repairability The one-piece cabinet and budget design do make major repairs less attractive economically. On a machine at this price point, big faults often mean replacement rather than repair.
Overall, it was a reasonable low-cost washer, but not one built with long service life or economical major repairs in mind. For any mains-related checks or internal repairs beyond basic maintenance, use a qualified appliance engineer.

Never attempt gas work
By law, gas appliances must only be worked on by a Gas Safe registered engineer. If your fault involves gas, stop and call a professional — do not attempt it yourself.
Watch for sharp edges
Outer panels are smooth, but internal parts are full of sharp machined edges. Wear protective gloves and arm sleeves.
Water appliances can leak
Turn off the water supply before disconnecting any hoses.
