What Is This Forum For?
This forum is to give feedback on, and ask questions about anything related to buying and running a Miele washing machine - just not repairs
This is because most washing machines, regardless of the brand, suffer the same faults. So instead of having 20 different forums all asking the same questions, eg. my (Miele/Hoover/Hotpoint/Samsung washing machine won't fill with water, or won't pump out etc. they are all in one big washing machine repair forum

This section is basically for non-repair discussion about Miele washing machines, especially things like buying advice, features, running costs, reliability, and general ownership questions.
To keep it simple:
1. Use this forum for: - Feedback on Miele washing machines - Questions about choosing or buying one - Advice on using and running one - General ownership queries not involving faults/repairs
2. Don’t use this section for: - Fault diagnosis - Repair help - “Won’t fill”, “won’t drain”, “won’t spin” type problems
3. Why repairs are kept elsewhere: - Most washing machine faults are broadly similar across brands - It avoids having the same repair question repeated in lots of separate brand forums - It makes fault-finding easier in one main washing machine repair forum
4. Related topics that fit here: - Washing machine reviews - Help choosing a new washing machine - Opinions on Miele versus other brands - Questions indirectly related to buying a new machine
If your question is about a fault or repair, it’s better posted in the main washing machine repair forum. If it’s about choosing, comparing, or living with a Miele, this is the right place.
As a general safety reminder, always isolate any appliance from the mains before inspecting internal parts, and use a qualified engineer for mains, gas, or sealed refrigeration work.

Safety first — read before actioning advice
Never work on a live appliance
Always unplug it at the mains before going near it with any tools.
Never attempt gas work
By law, gas appliances must only be worked on by a Gas Safe registered engineer. If your fault involves gas, stop and call a professional — do not attempt it yourself.
Watch for sharp edges
Outer panels are smooth, but internal parts are full of sharp machined edges. Wear protective gloves and arm sleeves.
Water appliances can leak
Turn off the water supply before disconnecting any hoses.
Know your limits
If you're not confident testing or working inside the appliance, STOP and call a professional.
