If it’s getting to spin, the padlock light flashes, then it keeps stopping and retrying, that usually means the control is still not seeing one of the conditions needed to spin. As you’ve already changed the main board and door interlock, I’d check the basics the machine relies on before spin.

1. Isolate it from the mains first before removing any panels or touching wiring.

2. Check it is fully draining If there is any water left in the drum, many Bekos will refuse to spin. Clean the pump filter, check the drain hose for a blockage/kink, and listen whether the pump runs strongly. If it only hums or drains slowly, the pump or blockage may still be the issue.

3. Check the carbon brushes on the motor A very common cause on Beko washers. If the brushes are worn short, the machine may wash oddly but fail to spin properly. Also inspect the commutator and the motor plug for burning or loose connections.

4. Check the motor tachometer This tells the board the motor speed. If the tacho coil or magnet is faulty, the machine can keep trying to spin then abort. Check the wiring from motor to board as well.

5. Inspect wiring to the door lock and motor Even with new parts fitted, a broken wire, loose connector, or damaged plug can give the same symptoms.

6. Try with an empty drum If it spins empty but not with washing, suspect an out-of-balance issue, worn shock absorbers, or a suspension problem.

If you can, post whether it drains fully and whether the motor tries to turn at all on spin. That will narrow it down a lot. For live electrical testing, use a qualified appliance engineer.

Safety first — read before actioning advice

  • Never work on a live appliance

Always unplug it at the mains before going near it with any tools.

  • Never attempt gas work

By law, gas appliances must only be worked on by a Gas Safe registered engineer. If your fault involves gas, stop and call a professional — do not attempt it yourself.

  • Watch for sharp edges

Outer panels are smooth, but internal parts are full of sharp machined edges. Wear protective gloves and arm sleeves.

  • Water appliances can leak

Turn off the water supply before disconnecting any hoses.

  • Know your limits

If you're not confident testing or working inside the appliance, STOP and call a professional.
