Indesit Iwme127
Im a property maintenance engineer and ive been asked to attend a report of a IWME127 failing to complete its cycle.
When a wash is selected it will wash but fails to move on to spin and drain
But it will spin and drain when selected independently.
Ive not yet been to the appliance, but want to go in fully armed.
Can I also put this machine in test mode? ?
Any help is greatly received.
I am technically inclined.
Regards
TIA

Hi. On an Indesit IWME127, if it washes but won’t progress to the drain/spin part of the programme, yet will drain and spin when those are selected manually, the most likely issue is usually not the pump or motor themselves, but something stopping the control from deciding it’s safe to advance.
A few things to go in and check:
1. Check it is actually heating If the heater or NTC is faulty, many Indesit machines will wash indefinitely or stall before the later stages. Feel for warmth in the water/glass after 10–15 minutes on a hot wash. If still stone cold, suspect heater, thermostat/NTC, wiring, or control relay.
2. Check pressure system and air trap A partially blocked pressure chamber/air trap or pressure switch issue can confuse water level sensing. The machine may wash, but not recognise when to drain/spin in sequence. Inspect the pressure hose for blockage, splits, or soap residue.
3. Check for slow draining under programme control Even if it drains on a separate drain/spin selection, it may be draining too slowly during an automatic cycle. Check pump filter, sump hose, outlet hose, and pump impeller for restriction.
4. Check motor brushes and tacho Worn brushes or a weak tacho signal can cause odd programme progression faults, even where spin still works intermittently. Worth inspecting if original motor parts are fitted.
5. Timer/control module If heating, pressure system, and drainage all prove good, the programmer/control board becomes more likely.
6. Test mode Many Indesit models do have a service/test routine, but the exact entry method can vary by production version. I wouldn’t want to guess and send you down the wrong path without the full model/code from the rating plate.
Please isolate the appliance from the mains before removing panels or checking internal parts. If it turns out to be a live electrical fault on the module or wiring, use a qualified appliance engineer. If you can post the full model and serial/industrial code from the plate, I may be able to narrow the test procedure down further.

Safety first — read before actioning advice
Never work on a live appliance
Always unplug it at the mains before going near it with any tools.
Never attempt gas work
By law, gas appliances must only be worked on by a Gas Safe registered engineer. If your fault involves gas, stop and call a professional — do not attempt it yourself.
Watch for sharp edges
Outer panels are smooth, but internal parts are full of sharp machined edges. Wear protective gloves and arm sleeves.
Water appliances can leak
Turn off the water supply before disconnecting any hoses.
Know your limits
If you're not confident testing or working inside the appliance, STOP and call a professional.
