Bosch WFL2450 won't go past first step
Bosch WFL2450 will start then not get past the first step.
It will fill, then you hear a snick as it tries to go onto the next step but doesn't get there. It pauses for a short time, then snicks again as it tries again repeatedly. I only let it do that a few times before powering off.
On spin only, it drains, then snicks and gets stuck as above. Drain works, but that is all.
I have cleaned the filter at the bottom, nothing stuck there, just a bit of grey silt.
Is there anything I can do to get it working again? Is something stuck that I could unstick? I am happy to remove the back and try minor repairs preferably with the guidance of a manual or youtube video.
It is not worth getting it repaired as the spin is starting to get noisy, the machine is now old and was going to be replaced anyway in a couple of months time when the kitchen is refurbished.
It would be good to keep it going just a bit longer.

Is the fault essentially that the drum is not turning at all on any cycle? (ie the motor isn't running). If so try this article Washing machine drum not turning

I thought you might say brushes. I don't think it is worth the hassle of getting and fitting new ones just for a few weeks, so it looks like hand washing for a while until I get my new kitchen. Luckily I have a spin drier.
Thanks for your help.
The number 1 cause of the motor not turning is worn carbon brushes, but not all washing machine motors have carbon brushes in their motors, and there are multiple other possible causes too. The article I linked to before covers all my advice on this fault and contains relevant links.

Thanks Andy for your prompt reply.
I have taken the back off the machine and the belt looks fine, taut and seems to turn ok.
The drum is not turning at all in operation. It does the first stage of filling up (on a wash cycle) or draining (on a drain or spin only cycle) then the drum should turn to either wash or spin but all I hear is the snick that seems to indicate the next stage in the cycle. The snick will repeat if I don't turn off the power.
