Broken drum lifter in Hoover OPH616-80
How can I replace a drum paddle in Hoover OPH616-80 ? There is one retaining srew to the front of the washing machine that holds it but I don't know how to undo the screw. I've removed a sump hose but there is no clear access to the screw from there. Any ideas ?

Not sure what you mean by don't know how to undo the screw. Can you not access it? This topic is lightly covered halfway down this article How to remove something stuck in washing machine though it isn't fully comprehensive as they all have their different methods. There may be a screw or clip accessible down one of the holes in the paddle.

You would think so. Please let me know how you get on. It's theoretically possible they can only be changed with the drum out. Most can be replaced from inside the drum and only use clips. Make sure the screw you've seen is definitely fastening the paddle to the drum. If it is and you can't get to it through the sump hose or dispenser hose then it can only be got to with the drum out.

Thanks Andy. I will try it. It must be possible to change them since they sell drum paddles for this model as separate spare parts.
It's under the soap dispenser. You need to disconnect machine and take lid off. It's a long shot though.

How can I get to that hose? What parts do I need to remove ? That will be my last try.
Thanks for clarification Matt. Some drum paddles (or lifters) aren't designed to be replaced, some can only be removed with the drum stripped down but many can be released from inside via a clip and shove back method. If you can see that there is definitely a screw that fixes through the drum into the underside of the drum paddle but it can't be accessed from the sump hose it looks like it isn't meant to be removed that way. It may need the drum to be out before access. The only other place you could get access to the underside of the paddle is through the large dispenser hose under the soap dispenser. I'd be surprised though if they designed it like that.

Hi Andy. It means that when I've removed a sump hose I could see the screw but wasn't able to access it. It's a little bit to the right from where the sump hose hole is and on top of that there is a heater that obstructs it.
