Hotpoint WM . Conditioner is not taken
Hello .
Hotpoint Washing machine which has 2 way inlet cold water valve and a dispenser with 3 compartments (wash , prewash and conditioner) .
Fault : conditioner not filled with water therefore not taken away
Facts : tested separately wash valve and prewash valve are working. Dispenser is clean , softener compartment clean. When softener should be taken away (means BOTH valves should be open) , water is coming in only on prewash compartment !!! . Topper (the plastic way with holes for spraying water replaced so is new !!)
Question : I am wondering who can answer why water is not sprayed in the softener compartment

Hello. If fabric softener isn't being taken into the machine the chances are that either the valve that supplies it is faulty or not receiving any power. The latter is less likely. The only other likely possibility is if by any chance there is a mechanism that changes the direction of the flow of water so that it flows into the fabric softeners compartment.
I would think there are few of these machines about but I have seen them with a mechanical system in place connected to the control timer. It's very crude. Most washing machines will just use a separate water valve connected directly to the fabric conditioner compartment. Therefore if it hasn't been taken out then the valve is likely to be unable to let water through or it isn't being energised. The machine is Hotpoint WDPG 9640 K UK .

I've not heard of a system like that. If one valve is for pre-wash and the other for normal fill & rinsing then neither valve should direct water into the fabric softener compartment. Unless somehow when both valves run at the same time the water pressure is increased to an extent that causes water to somehow spill over into the fabric compartment. That sounds like a crude method. If that's how it works though then if the water pressure is too low I can imagine it not working too well (or if there's a blockage in the top of the dispenser drawer network where the water runs. But i would only suspect water pressure if the both valves are energised but water isn't running through them both.
Every washing machine I've worked on has a separate solenoid for the fabric conditioner apart from the few weird systems I described earlier with a mechanical system linked to the timer. If that's how it works and it's not energising both valves on the last rinse but both valves are otherwise working ok it can only really be down to the software and pcb controlling it all but I've never seen a fault that has only this symptom.

There is no separate valve for the conditioner.
The washing machine , as I said before , has 2 valves : wash and prewash.
To take the conditioner, BOTH valves (wash and prewash) are on , so that the topper is spraying water into all 3 compartments , including the conditioner one.
But, this was not happening , meaning only the prewash was spraying on the conditioner phase.
Some other guys said it is a matter of low pressure water , and this could be indeed a reason. But, I couldnt see low pressure during the wash and prewash.
Therefore , the questions is still there .......
