Can't connect hose from mains to washing machine

I'm fitting a new washing machine: the connector hose on the machine is a standard one, but the hose from the mains (it's from under the kitchen sink) has no thread on it (see pics). The John lewis delivery guys said it was an old-fashioned one and they couldn't install it. Is there a simple way to put a connector on the mains hose? Grateful for any advice!

That looks like where a drain hose attaches not fill hose?

It looks way too fat to be a fill hose to me and I remember when the thick inlet hoses were common. If it’s the drain hose the end of the drain hose on the washer may hopefully push on tightly. Preferably with a tight cable tie or two to help hold it on.

If by any chance it was a fill hose I’d get a plumber in to fit proper modern taps but I’d be very surprised if it is.

OK, Ill just have to check it out again. So it it's the drain hose, the fill hose might be tucked away under the sink? It's a flat I've just bought and the last owners took their washing machine with them.

Thanks for your help!

I'll have to check where exactly it goes when I'm home. Assuming it's the fill hose, could I fit a screw fitting to the end of it to match the blue one on the machine hose in the pic?

Drain hoses commonly have a rubber bit in the end that can push into a connector like that.

Thanks but that's the only inlet hose I can see, plus I can't see how the drain hose would connect to it. It's a standard-size drain hose so much wider diameter than that.

In the 60s and 70s the fill hoses were thick and rubber but this one looks even thicker. Where does the other end go?
