How to prevent my washing machine from walking
Hi, I started to use my new machine (Beko WTG620M1W 6kg 1200rpm Freestanding Washing Machine) only to discover it has very poor stability. Even after adjusting its feet to make it perfectly level, it still moves around. Not only that, during spin-drying it sort of jumps from its left feet to its right feet, making a tremendous noise and making itself really go through a rough time. It's literally violent and almost scary to watch from closeby. It also hits the cupboard nearby. In other words, it's a disaster.
Any idea how to keep such machine still?
(and, is it me or this is bad design?)

Has the transit packaging definitely been removed? It sounds like it hasn't. That would cause the suspension to seize up and the washing machine would jump around on spin with laundry inside because the suspension couldn't move.

hello,
Thank you so much for sharing this helpful information, it helped me alot
Thanks and regards.:)
That's reassuring, thank you very much for the clarification!
Many thanks for the update. It will be useful for others. No I don't think it is likely to have suffered any damage. All the movement of the outer drum that should have been absorbed by the suspension will have transferred to movement of the whole machine. Ironically the transit packaging prevents any damage because the outer drum was effectively seized up. The most likely potential for damage would be if the washing machine got dented or scratched after knocking into something.

I initially missed the section mentioning these bolts, feeling like a complete idiot. Now the machine is pretty still and silent, thanks man.
I'm wondering though, after several uses with bolts in and hence the machine vibrating like hell, did I reduce its lifetime?
Hello, yes, though usually there are multiple things to remove. Often there are bolts or plastic pegs at the back holding the outer drum in place that have to be removed. Do you have a leaflet or can you see the page in the instruction manual that instructs on removing the transit packaging?

There's something called "packaging reinforcement", a big piece of polystyrene in the bottom of the machine, that I had to remove (which I did) at the beginning. Is it what you're referring to?
