miele w3164 detergent drawer leak help
I hav miele w3164. During filling it start to leak thru detergent drawer door outside. The hose that takes the water from the drawer to the drum is not blocked with old detergent/softner residue, but the water goes too slowly, so it finds the next obvious escape, which is out the front! Pressure at inlet less than 6 atm. What can be problem?

If water is overflowing from the dispenser front during fill, it usually means either too much water is being directed into the drawer, or it isn’t flowing through the dispenser housing quickly enough. On a Miele, both are possible.
1. Clean the whole dispenser housing, not just the sump hose You’ve checked the hose from drawer to tub, but also inspect the dispenser box itself, especially the roof, outlet channels and the conditioner siphon insert. A partial restriction there can slow the flow enough to make it spill out the front.
2. Check the jets/nozzles above the drawer Pull the drawer out and look up underneath the top of the dispenser area. The spray holes can fur up with limescale or detergent residue, which can make the water spray in the wrong direction or too forcefully at the front of the drawer.
3. Check the drawer fit and front flap/seal Make sure the drawer is sitting fully home and not cracked or distorted. If the softener insert or drawer sections are not seated properly, water can deflect forwards.
4. Consider the inlet valve overfilling the dispenser Even with normal house pressure, a faulty inlet valve can let in too much water, or both valve sections may energise together when only one should. That can overwhelm the dispenser and cause front leakage.
5. Check machine levelling If the washer leans forward slightly, water can run to the front of the dispenser and spill out.
Isolate the appliance from the mains before inspecting internal parts. If cleaning and levelling don’t cure it, the likely suspects are the dispenser assembly or inlet valve, which are best checked by a qualified engineer for any mains-related work.

Never work on a live appliance
Always unplug it at the mains before going near it with any tools.
Never attempt gas work
By law, gas appliances must only be worked on by a Gas Safe registered engineer. If your fault involves gas, stop and call a professional — do not attempt it yourself.
Watch for sharp edges
Outer panels are smooth, but internal parts are full of sharp machined edges. Wear protective gloves and arm sleeves.
Water appliances can leak
Turn off the water supply before disconnecting any hoses.
Know your limits
If you're not confident testing or working inside the appliance, STOP and call a professional.
