Hi, looking for some consumer advice. We're on the lookout for a new washer dryer. We have suspended wooden floors, and when our current washer dryer spins, it feels like we're in the middle of an earthquake wherever we are on the ground floor of the house. We've tried putting a piece of old work surface under it, vibration absorber pads, everything. So we're now looking for a machine that absorbs the vibrations as much as possible, and ideally makes as little noise as possible. About a 9kg drum, and has to be a washer dryer. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello there. Miele are by far the quietest, and the most solid washing machines in the UK. They are the ones that move about the least. I have a Miele washing machine and I could stack a load of boxes and things on top of it and when the washing machine goes into the spin cycle they just do not move. However, my washing machine is in a concrete floor. And also, Miele specifically say that their washing machines are not recommended to be installed on a suspended floor. I'm pretty sure all manufacturers would say the same. Obviously the closer to the edge or corner in a floor is likely to be the section that moves the least, but it's likely that whichever washing machine you get if this suspended floor has a lot of movement you will get this issue.

Whether or not it will be better or worse with a Miele washing machine I honestly could not say stop as I say they are very much more stable during spin but they are very heavy washing machines, so I couldn't even rule out the possibility that a heavier washing machine on spin couldn't introduce just as much if not more movement although instinctively I would expect it would be less.
