Hisense wfu7012 dead causes/reasons?
I have this washing machine from Hisense for over a year now and have been using it with no problems at all. Last day I wanted to use the machine. As usual I did what I do, but this time when I pressed the power button to turn it, something blew up inside it and electricity was cut off from the whole house. I restored electricity and tried to turn on the machine again but no hope. So I opened the machine and was able to determine that fuses has blown up in the main control board.
I can purchase the board and replace the damaged one, but before I do that I suspect that another problem could be causing the issue and therefore may damage the new board, so I am looking for suggestions for what could have caused the problem to occur.

Yes it would be very unwise to buy a new PCB without finding out what caused it to blow. It could have been a power surge in which case a new PCB may fix it but it could have been the motor or heater or something else.
You would need to know what to look for and need to use an expensive insulation test meter which is a specialist meter for repair engineers.

Actually the machine was completely turned off. So, once I pressed the on button, to start the display, something blew up. The screen didn't turn on and neither was the motor nor the heater working.
I opened the machine and took the PCB apart and was able to see the damage on the board. Unfortunately I can't post a photo of it now, but I could clearly see on the PCB burning marks of a fuse that has blown up, as well as on the plastic cover around the board some burning marks (black mark on the plastic).
I also smelled something burning around the button at that time once it happened.
Given that, I really can't imagine what could have caused the power surge. Since the machine was completely turned off. I also checked the socket on the wall using my phone charger and it worked!
Any ideas! I can't call a technician because it may be more expensive than getting a new washing machine!
If there is an internal fuse in the board you should try a new fuse first unless you can see damage on the board.
