Bosch Maxx 6 not draining
Heeeelllp!!!
I am usually handy with keeping our washing machines going but this one is giving me nightmares.
The serial number is wab28161gb/13
So, the washer would not drain. I removed the filter and found it blocked with a coin, hair bobbles and fluff. Removing the debris didn't work so I replaced the pump.
The fault remained so delving deeper I discovered that the transistor that feeds the pump had blown. New board fitted...still faulty.
I have checked the rubber sump with the ball in it...all clear. The drain hose & u bend...all clear. Supply the pump directly with 240v (via the loom from the board)...pumps out fine...so that tells me that the wiring loom and pump are okay but the new board isn't supplying power to the pump. It'll even do a wash cycle before permanently showing 1 minute remaining and the washing symbol.
Am loath to say the new board is faulty though...am I missing something? Are there any other components that influence the board to switch the pump on?

Sorry Isla. I always moderate posts within the hour, but sometimes when I do it on my mobile phone is says it’s done it but later I find out it hasn’t.
If the new PCB is behaving exactly like the old one, with the same fault, it would be very unlikely to be faulty and more likely that the fault wasn’t on the PCB.
A washing machine stuck on last minute is often an open circuit heating element but wouldn’t expect that to interfere with the pump. Especially if the pump still doesn’t run in a spin only cycle.
Have you got continuity between the live connector to the pump and the PCB connector? Have you checked all the connections on the PCB plugs?
The pressure system is involved in the pumping as it tells the PCB when there is water inside and when there is not. Check on my main Whitegoodshelp site for several articles on the pressure system for a better understanding.

I replaced the washing machine in the end. Without spare parts to hand, fault finding by swapping parts took too long. Have had a good run of Bosch machines but drew a line with this one as it wasn't a good purchase in hindsight so have took a chance with an Indesit. Was over £100 cheaper than the basic Bosch with a 2 year guarantee so will see how it goes
