Bleep from Hotpoint Washing machine
Reading on from various other posts, here is my situation so others can make a comparison. I have a Hotpoint Washing Machine just under 2 years old. For the first 18 months is was all good but recently I hear it beeping mid cycle. Its always 3 beeps together, beep beep beep. My Washing rituals have not changed so can't think It is due to the load. Why isn't Hotpoint addressing this issue, it seems to be common. I usually put the cycle on 'Synthetics at 40° and the full (long cycle) 2hr 55mins. Usually about 1 hour into the cycle the beeping starts. It drives me mad as I keep looking at the display screen but there is no fault or warnings, so why is it doing this, what does it mean. * The Washing cycle thankfully is functioning well but why oh why the annoying beeps !

If the machine is completing the wash normally and showing no fault code, the three beeps are often a warning or status prompt rather than a true breakdown. Unfortunately, without the exact model number it’s hard to say with certainty what Hotpoint intended, but here are the main things worth checking.
1. Check the model number and user manual Hotpoint use different control panels across models. On some, repeated beeps can relate to option selection, button presses being rejected, a door/lock prompt, or an attention warning that does not stop the cycle.
2. Watch exactly what happens when it beeps Note whether it is: - around the heating stage, - just before or after a drain, - during a spin change, - or when the display time jumps. That helps narrow down whether it is load sensing, balance correction, draining, or a control issue.
3. Try a different programme Run a cottons wash and then a shorter synthetics cycle. If it only does it on that 2hr 55 programme, it may be programme-specific rather than a fault.
4. Check for simple causes Make sure the machine is level, not overloaded, and the drain filter is clear. An unbalanced load or slight draining delay can sometimes trigger attention beeps without a full fault.
5. Inspect buttons/control panel A sticking membrane button or damp control fascia can cause random beeps. Isolate it from the mains first before inspecting anything internal. Do not remove panels unless you are competent.
If the beeping is getting more frequent, or a fault code eventually appears, post the full model number and any flashing lights pattern. For any mains-related checks, use a qualified appliance engineer.

Safety first — read before actioning advice
Never work on a live appliance
Always unplug it at the mains before going near it with any tools.
Never attempt gas work
By law, gas appliances must only be worked on by a Gas Safe registered engineer. If your fault involves gas, stop and call a professional — do not attempt it yourself.
Watch for sharp edges
Outer panels are smooth, but internal parts are full of sharp machined edges. Wear protective gloves and arm sleeves.
Water appliances can leak
Turn off the water supply before disconnecting any hoses.
Know your limits
If you're not confident testing or working inside the appliance, STOP and call a professional.
