Bosch Wfb 2004 Concrete Block Problem
I have contacted various suppliers of Bosch spares who tell me that the retaining bolts and the rubber washers/ spacers that hold the concrete block (that comes as a kit) is obsolete and no longer available. The block is loose and bounces around. I believe that the same construction was used for a number of machines. Seems a shame to scrap the machine for the want of some washers. Is there something I can do?

How old is the washing machine?

Most modern washing machines have plastic tubs, when the weight comes loose, which is far too common, if not fixed straight away it often results in the tub brackets breaking away, which is then scrap. It requires either a new tub or new machine.
Anyone hearing a knocking noise every time the washer gos into spin should not ignore it.

I have tried remedial action that did not work. However, I have just rung Buy Spares (I have only recently found your site) who have identified the parts and said that it is available (although as a special order that it could take up to 28 days). However, I have now discovered that the metal 'lug' or protruding strip through which the retaining bolt secures the concrete block to the drum has sheared. Mmmm. I think this means a welding repair but I don't know whether this is feasible.
Anyway thanks for the advice.
Manufacturers are obliged to keep functional spares available for so long. It used to be 10 years but I think many have reduced it to something like only 7 as the life of their products has so obviously declined. Have you tried tightening the nuts up and putting loctite on them? If they are obsolete then you can't do anything unless you managed to find a scrap one somewhere or someone with old stock they are glad to get rid of.

It's somewhere between 8 - 12 years old. I'm sorry I'm a bit vague.
