Hotpoint Wm62X Not Taking In Hot Water
I noticed the other day that my machine is not taking warm water into the main right hand compartment, it's taking just cold water into the left one. I automatically assumed the program mechanism. However, I removed the hot water pipe to the machine, and the pressure is high. Reconnected the main hose, disconnected rubber hose from inlet valve to the soap compartment. Switched on and water drizzled out. No pressure at all. So, I am now confused, thinking of changing the inlet valve which is obviously faulty. I have no idea if the machine will take cold if the warm is not working properly? I don't think it's the program mechanism, it's a mechanical type which would be a huge coincidence if it fails the same time as the inlet valve.
Much appreciate any comments.

Most hot and cold fill washing machines only take in hot water on 60 degree or boil wash and not on any 40 degree or lower wash. Are you sure it used to take water in? Even so, you can't assume a faulty valve as faulty connections to the live or neutral supply could also stop a valve from working.

thought I would close this with a happy ending. The solenoid valve arrived today, took 5 minutes to fit, works perfectly again now
If you moved the wires over to another valve and that opened then the valve must be faulty

Yes it definitely used to take in hot. I have checked the wiring. The valve does let SOME feed in, but only a trickle. Also, I put the wires onto another valve next to it, there are 3 altogether, and that valve fully opened, soaking my leg from the front of the dispenser cavity. I had removed the dispenser to see what was happening inside.
So it's not the wiring.
I can only assume that in normal working order, it would perhaps take both hot and cold to fill, either that or it is sensing incorrect resistance from the faulty valve and opening the cold too?
