Meaco dehumidifier keeps saying the tank is full

This is often something simple rather than a major fault. On dehumidifiers, a false “tank full” warning is usually caused by the tank not seating properly, a stuck float in the bucket, or the bucket-full switch/sensor not changing state.

1. Isolate it from the mains first. Remove the water tank and refit it a few times firmly. Make sure it slides fully home and isn’t being stopped by a warped tank, dirt, or a misaligned handle/lid.

2. Check the tank float. Most tanks have a small float or magnet arrangement that rises with the water level. Make sure it moves freely and isn’t jammed by scale, slime, or a loose plastic part. Clean the tank thoroughly and check nothing has come adrift inside.

3. Look at the switch/sensor area in the machine. Where the tank fits, there is usually a small lever microswitch, reed switch, or magnetic sensor. Check for fluff, dirt, or damage stopping it from being operated when the tank is inserted. Don’t force anything.

4. If you use continuous drainage, check that setup too. A badly fitted hose, backflow, or internal float issue can sometimes confuse the machine, though “tank full” with an empty tank still points more to the bucket/full sensor circuit.

5. Narrow it down. With the tank removed, look for the actuator that the tank should press. If it looks broken or loose, that’s likely the fault. If everything mechanical looks fine, the switch/sensor or control board may be faulty.
