Hoover Nextra6 Not Draining Properly
The programs I normally use start and finish as per normal but clothes are still soapy and wet. Rinse only settings likewise.
Drum is still partly full after spin cycles, which are slow, presumably because of the extra weight of water slopping around, slowing the motor.
I drained the drum via the filter, the pump was clear of debris and no damage.
Outlet drain pipe (pump discharge) is clear, as is the pipe to foul, no problems there.
When I took the back panel off and watched a rinse only cycle, the water level never dropped significantly, the drain pipe only trickled water when the pump was operating and the rinse only cycle finished with the drum never draining.
When operating the Drain setting, the pump fully drains the drum (which I assume is on timer only), so the pump works fine under this setting, no problem.
Should I be looking for a failed level sensor (if there is one), am I looking at a replacement PCB (probably not worth it for a 6 year old machine) or are there other problems I haven't thought of?

It sounds like you still have an obstruction or blockage, but it's only partial, and not in an obvious place. I have a troubleshooting article specifically for when you can't find a blockage but the washer still isn't draining the water

Thanks for your advice. All working as per normal now, so I can only assume there was some blockage which wasn't easily visible that has now flushed through.
A friend of mine had this issue for a while. When doing a wash, the pump couldn't empty the water before the spin cycle started. If the drum was filled with just water, it worked fine, very fast. The conclusion was that he was using too much detergent, there were too many bubbles in the water and the pump seemed to struggle with that. If we turned the machine off, when it was trying to pump the water out and the spin cycle was just going to kick in, then back on, there was a loud gurgle noise and it pumped fine. He now uses less detergent and it works fine. He also found that liquid detergents seemed to cause all the bubbles in his machine, powder didn't give the same problem.
The pump should pump the water at the same rate no matter what. I've seen cases where a vacuum is created collapsing the sump hose after it's pumped out a few times. Partial obstructions can also be intermittent such as a small button in drain hose spinning round and acting like a butterfly valve. Something could be causing the pump to run slow after it's been running for a while. Partial obstructions can slow things down enough to cause problems when pumping with soap suds and laundry inside but not when running clean or empty. There are various possible causes of intermittent issues.

Thanks for a prompt reply. Unless there are different feeds from the drum to pump under different settings, the drain program empties the drum completely as expected.
It almost appears as though the pump is on slow speed during the wash/rinse cycle but on drain cycle the pump works at full speed?
Maybe running a couple of drain cycles cleared a blockage that I didn't see, I'll try running another to see if it behaves.
