Bosch Classixx 7 Won't Drain / Spin

Hi

Complete and utter DIY disaster guy here...

After the washing machine stopped working mid cycle, then refusing to drain I:

- turned it off

- drained it through the manual drain pipe

- pulled the latch to open the door and get the washing out

The filter was stuck. So I got some plyers to unjam it and it turned so far before snapping the filter plug handle.

In the process of doing this, it punctured the filter in the middle so it started leaking.

I then got a screwdriver (I know I know, but I was a little bit enraged) and managed to break the plug from the middle and eventually get it out. The plug died a sad death, but the replacement part from bosch arrived today (woohoo).

The filter had grit in it (hence getting jammed in the screw thread for the filter plug I suspect) and I cleaned out a small pebble which was blocking the, I don't know what it is, little fan thing?

Anyway, with the new plug arriving, I cheerfully put this in with all my hopes pinned on this fixing all the problems and making everything good in the world again. Low and behold, the washing machine kicked into life on a cycle and filled / turned / drained.

I was about to breathe a sigh of relief when I spotted rather substantial trickle from the new plug. NO!!!!

In my despair I stopped the cycle, turned it onto drain which thankfully worked.

Unscrewing the new plug, it looks like the threading for the filter has been damaged. I can't see how that could've happened. It was only a screwdriver, not a minidigger, or hammerdrill...

Any advice or help on getting out of this situation would be most appreciated.

If I were to buy a new washing machine (mine is 18 months old) I fear for an end to my marriage.
