AEG Loud Knocking on Spin
Very loud knocking from top of the rear of the drum. Removed the top cover plate. The plastic drum surround at the top rear, inside behind the stainless metal bowl knocks definingly throughout the spin cycle. I cant see anything that has come loose. But can feel it bashing the outer plastic drum under the cover plate.

Sounds like the bearing`s spider (the aluminium drum support that you cannot see) one of the arms has broken. There should be 3 arms that line up with each of the 3 drum paddles whether they be plastic or on really older AEG metal. If line up one of each of the 3 paddles at 6 o/clock and hold the lip of the silver drum and place the other hands fingers at 12 o/clock and see if there is any up and down play relative to the rear of the door seal by pressing downwards with the bottom hand. If you have a cracked spider the drum will will move about a 1 to 2 cm. Next question: Model number and pnc code as read of the machine`s sticky rating label, number begins with a 9 and might end 00 or / 01 or some other numbers (which is the version on a model). Give me that info and I`ll look it up and tell you whether you have a sealed plastic tank - not good news OR you might have a tank you can dismantle (which by the sounds of things is unlikely TBH). I`m around on the drug (computer!) UNTIL 2PM TODAY.
