First there was an F10 error, I turned on the washing machine, removed the rubber from the engine, the error disappeared but now when checked for short spin the drum creases smoothly and in the other it begins to block and you can hear the clatter, I cleaned the filter, unscrewed the engine, measured the meters, took out the heater and watched if there was anything in the tank under the drum and everything seems to be good but the problem is still there, the washing machine is 3 years old

F10 on a washer-dryer can sometimes appear alongside a motor/drum drive problem, but I can’t be certain of the exact Hisense meaning here. From what you’ve described, the more important clue is that the drum turns freely one way but binds and chatters the other way. That points more to a mechanical fault than just an electronic error.

Before checking anything internal, isolate the appliance from the mains.

1. Check the drive belt carefully If by “removed the rubber from the engine” you mean the drive belt, inspect it for fraying, stretching, glazing or damage. Refit it and check whether it tracks properly on the motor pulley and drum pulley. A damaged or loose belt can slip, jump or clatter.

2. Turn the drum by hand with the belt off With the belt removed, rotate the drum pulley by hand both ways. - If it still tightens or knocks one way, suspect the drum bearings, spider/drum support, or something trapped between drum and tub. - If it turns smoothly both ways with the belt off, the fault is more likely around the motor, belt, or pulley.

3. Check the drum pulley Make sure the pulley bolt is tight and the pulley is not cracked or wobbling. A loose pulley can cause clattering and uneven turning.

4. Check for bearing or spider failure Lift the inner drum up at the door opening. Excessive up/down play, rumbling, scraping, or stiffness can indicate worn bearings or a cracked drum spider.

5. Inspect the motor brushes only if fitted Some motors have carbon brushes; if worn, they can cause erratic rotation. If this model has an inverter motor, brush wear won’t apply.

If the drum binds one way even with the belt off, I’d strongly suspect bearings/spider or an obstruction. Sealed tub, major motor, or wiring checks are best left to a qualified engineer. For parts, use the full model number and, if needed, try the Whitegoods Help Spare Parts Shop.

SAFETY FIRST: READ BEFORE ACTING ON THIS GUIDANCE

  • Never work on a live appliance

Always unplug it at the mains before going near it with any tools.

  • Never attempt gas work

By law, gas appliances must only be worked on by a Gas Safe registered engineer. If your fault involves gas, stop and call a professional. Do not attempt it yourself.

  • Watch for sharp edges

Outer panels are smooth, but internal parts have sharp machined edges. Wear protective gloves and arm sleeves.

  • Water appliances can leak

Turn off the water supply before disconnecting any hoses.

  • Know your limits

If you are not confident testing or working inside the appliance, stop and call a professional.
