My New Miele W3985
My new miele W3985 it's absolutely fantastic! Lights on in the honeycombe drum! It's replacing an old hotpoint which was so noisy during spin take off that we thought the house is collapsing. New baby just purrs and purrs and the spin cycle is unbelievable quiet. It looks great so glad miele finally produce white machines and I love the anti crease system which gently rocks your clothes from side to side until you take them out. 10 out of 10.

That’s great to hear. The W3985 was a very well-regarded Miele, and what you’ve described is exactly why people rate them so highly: very solid build, excellent suspension and bearings, and much better spin behaviour than many older Hotpoint machines.
A few good habits will help keep it that way:
1. Don’t overload it Even a quiet Miele will get noisier if packed too tightly, especially on larger cotton loads.
2. Use the right amount of detergent Too much detergent can cause oversudsing, longer rinses, and residue build-up over time.
3. Leave the door and dispenser slightly open after use This helps prevent stale smells and keeps the door seal and soap drawer fresher.
4. Run a hot maintenance wash now and then An occasional hot wash helps reduce detergent and biofilm build-up, particularly if you mostly use low temperatures.
5. Keep an eye on the filter and drawer Cleaning the pump filter and detergent drawer periodically will help maintain performance.
6. Check transport bolts were removed on installation It sounds fine, but it’s always worth mentioning for any newly installed machine.
No fault to diagnose here by the sounds of it, just a very pleased owner, which is nice to read for a change. If you ever do need to inspect anything internal, always isolate the appliance from the mains first, and use a qualified engineer for mains-related repairs.
Enjoy the new machine.

Safety first — read before actioning advice
Never work on a live appliance
Always unplug it at the mains before going near it with any tools.
Never attempt gas work
By law, gas appliances must only be worked on by a Gas Safe registered engineer. If your fault involves gas, stop and call a professional — do not attempt it yourself.
Watch for sharp edges
Outer panels are smooth, but internal parts are full of sharp machined edges. Wear protective gloves and arm sleeves.
Water appliances can leak
Turn off the water supply before disconnecting any hoses.
Know your limits
If you're not confident testing or working inside the appliance, STOP and call a professional.
