Beko adding water at the end of the cycle

We have a beko wmb 81641 lc

At the end of the cycle after the spin it adds water to the drum, drains some. Adds water, drains some and adds water again.

It adds more than it drains which leaves water in the bottom of the machine and the clothes wet.

Why is it adding water after the spin cycle and all the water is drained?

It sounds as if the machine is not actually completing the final drain/spin properly, so it keeps trying to rebalance or rinse through again rather than finishing cleanly. On these Beko washers the cause is often a drainage issue, a pressure-sensing issue, or occasionally a control fault.

Before checking anything internal, isolate the appliance from the mains.

1. Check the pump filter and drain path Remove and clean the pump filter if accessible. Look for coins, hair grips, fluff, socks etc. Also check the drain hose for kinks or partial blockage. A partial blockage can let some water out but not enough for a proper final spin.

2. Check the drain hose installation Make sure the hose is not pushed too far down the standpipe and is at the correct height. If it is too low or badly fitted, the machine can siphon or behave oddly during the end of the cycle.

3. Try a separate drain/spin cycle with no laundry If it still adds water at the end, that points away from load imbalance and more towards sensing, draining, or control problems.

4. Check for pressure system issues If the pressure chamber or pressure switch hose is clogged with detergent sludge, the machine can “think” there is still water inside and keep topping up/draining incorrectly.

5. Consider load balance If this mainly happens with towels or single heavy items, the machine may be aborting the final spin due to imbalance, leaving clothes wetter than normal.

If the filter, hose and installation are all fine, the next likely checks are the pump performance and pressure system, which may need a qualified engineer. Any mains electrical testing should be left to a properly qualified appliance engineer.

Safety first — read before actioning advice

  • Never work on a live appliance

Always unplug it at the mains before going near it with any tools.

  • Never attempt gas work

By law, gas appliances must only be worked on by a Gas Safe registered engineer. If your fault involves gas, stop and call a professional — do not attempt it yourself.

  • Watch for sharp edges

Outer panels are smooth, but internal parts are full of sharp machined edges. Wear protective gloves and arm sleeves.

  • Water appliances can leak

Turn off the water supply before disconnecting any hoses.

  • Know your limits

If you're not confident testing or working inside the appliance, STOP and call a professional.
