Hi, I am hoping you can help me. Replaced the door lock as the machine would not start. But after replacing, it still would not start.

I am almost certain its not the door, as if I connect the switch up, and push the switch as if the door was engaged it still doesn't start.

I can measure power on the connector. Also if I short out pins 2 & 3 on the connector the machine works.

I can also measure the coil on pins 1 & 3 with my ohm meter.

At a bit of a loss as to what to check for now.

Machine is working with the pins 2 & 3 shorted. But not ideal as the door can be opened with it washing!

The picture shows both switches, the one on the right is the Old one.

Many Thanks for reading this.

Hi if the washing machine works when you bypassed the door lock it must be the door lock? If not the lock then the door and door latch are not activating it?

Hi. It’s very unusual for a new part to be faulty especially if it has the same symptoms as the original one. It’s more likely to be something else. Is it definitely wired up ok? Separate wires or a connector plug that can only fit one way?

Hi Andy, thank you for replying.

I have tested the door closing the switch, with it plugged into the connector, and pushing the slider across.

May be I was unlucky and the new lock is faulty. I will see about getting another one.

Thanks again.
