Remove drum paddle of indesit washer

Since I scoured the Internet for like 3 hours also trying to figure this out, only to use my wife's otoscope to find the frigging tab, I thought I'd share for future searchers. On my washing machine, Indesit IWDC6125 Washer dryer combo, the tab is through the second hole from the back of the drum. You have to push it down and towards the left.

If there is something stuck under there that you need to retrieve then fair enough. But if not, I would be cautious about removing the lifter. It should be totally unnecessary unless something is jammed or stuck. Even successfully removing it could end up with a situation where it never really fits back as tightly, and could potentially start to come loose and come off in the future. It probably wouldn't but without a really good reason to remove it I will leave it alone.

The chances are that it pushes backwards in order to come off. That's the direction there is space for it to move into. So it should just be a question of gently pressing a small thin screwdriver down each hole to see if there is any give there that could be something that pushes down to release the lifter.

However, there's always the possibility that it could move left or right in order to come off. But if so they would have to be some sort of release mechanism because the lifter would be subject to left and right pressure as it revolves the laundry around.

If there is no give in any of the holes that is different to the other ones then there can't be any release mechanism under there. In that case maybe it needs a firm knock to release it, but obviously not knowing which way to do it is a problem because you do not want to break it.

It moves a millimetre then stops, thinking yeah a clip in the way...

Old one is fine and it still works. I just want to remove it to give it a deep clean underneath that's all

I‘m thinking you should be able to see how it clips in and work out what would need to be done to get it out. It may not have a release hole, maybe it just pushes forward or back to release? Is the old one still in place?

Hi Andy, yes it is but there is no way to find out which hole would have a tab... I've tried them all however nothing is budging and I dont want to damage in case I do the wrong one.

You would need to double-check it's the right one for your exact model, but once received, you should be able to see how it fits easily.

@shiney Going to be a long shot, but have you managed to figure it out? I'm stuck
