Candy Grand Evo 1472D2-47 Drain Pump Problems.

Hi, I have a Candy Grand Evo 1472D2-47 Washing machine. It has occasionally thrown up an E03 code but has always cleared after being drained & reset.

We have now moved to Canada & would like to use the machine, we have a 240v supply but it's 60hz not 50hz.

The machine won't drain, I've dismounted & checked the pressure switch & the pump.

The pump spins fine when connected direct to the supply on the bench even though it says 50hz on it but won't pump when installed in the machine it just makes a grinding noise & pumps very weakly but just occasionally spins up & works like a champ for a few seconds.

Is this a supply problem or pump on the way out? I've no problem about getting a new pump, they're not expensive, but if it's due to the hz difference it's pointless doing so.

Could it be a connection problem? do the pump wiring connectors fail? they look ok but I don't know if the pump is getting enough juice to run properly.

Any hints gratefully received.

Thanks

I'm no expert on the differences in international electrical supplies but a quick search on Google for - using UK appliances in canada brings up results that should answer this issue. A quick look at the first one seems to indicate that UK appliances would run on reduced power.
