Aeg Washing Machine Now Won't Start
Hi
I have an AEG L64850LE washing machine that tripped the RCD. As I didn't know at what stage of the cycle this happened I reset the RCD, the machine then started it's cycle, filled with water ok, then tripped again.
After going through the basic checks and tests it showed that the heater element had an open circuit and faulty, this has now been replaced and tested with a genuine part.
On turning the machine on and turning the dial to the desired programme the display lights up as normal but when the start/stop button is pressed nothing happens, not even hearing the door lock engage, there is a light that flashes above the button but this normal until it starts it cycle.
As the machine tripped out for a second time could this have now caused another problem, there are no obvious signs of any wires being damaged/burnt and no fault code is displayed.
I have read that on some machines a faulty door lock can cause the machine not to function.
Any help and advice appreciated
Tony

If you don't have an insulation test meter you can't trace faults causing fusing or tripping the electric. I have a help article on the subject here - tripping or fusing electrics
If the washing machine worked ok before it tripped but now after replacing the heating element it is completely dead apart from the lights then double check the heater and connections because an open circuit heater can cause those exact symptoms on some brands although to be honest I haven't heard of it with AEG.
I have a general guide to tracing faults when a washer is not starting but it can't be a step by step guide and just gives general advice. It could still be useful though - washing machine won’t start
