Beko WMB714422W - keeps filling with water but stops when turned off
Hi,
My washing machine keeps filling with water when on any program including spin and drain. On a wash cycle it will fill up and then drain and end the cycle early without going through the washing cycle.
On spin and drain it will keeps filling water via the drawer but does spin and drain. I can stop at the end and remove the clothes fine but if left it continues to fill up again and drain etc.
If I turn the machine off then it stops. From my research this is likely to be an issue with the water inlet valve or a problem with the pressure system.
I have checked the hose on the pressure sensor and this seems fine. I have also blown down it into the pressure chamber and can hear the water bubbling.
Do you think I need to replace the pressure sensor or do you think it is more likely a problem with the water inlet valve and this needs replacing instead?
Or any other idea?
thanks in advance
Andy

This thread was marked as solved. Here's a summary of the problem and the fix, generated from the discussion below.
Beko WMB714422W fills on all programmes and stops only when switched off
- The problem
- The Beko WMB714422W was reported to keep filling with water through the detergent drawer on every programme, including spin and drain. On a wash cycle it filled, then drained and ended early without completing the wash. On spin and drain it continued to fill, then drain, and would repeat unless the machine was turned off.
- Likely cause
- The accepted reply considered a pressure-system fault unlikely because the machine was filling even on spin, where the pressure system should only monitor that water has drained. A simple inlet valve failure was also considered unlikely because the water stopped entering when the machine was switched off. The strongest diagnosis was that the inlet valve was being energised when it should not be, suggesting an electrical/control fault rather than the valve or pressure hose itself.
- What fixed it
- No DIY repair was confirmed. The accepted advice was that this was unlikely to be a simple fault and that an engineer should inspect the machine for why the valve is being switched on when it should not be.
- Checks to try
- Pressure sensor hose checked and reported as fine
- Hose to pressure chamber was blown through and bubbling could be heard
- Observed that water filling stopped when the machine was turned off
- Observed that filling occurred on spin and drain as well as wash cycles
Safety: Further diagnosis should be carried out by a suitably qualified appliance engineer.

Hello Andy. I don't see how it could be the pressure system if the washing machine is filling on spin. The pressure system is only involved when the washing machine wants to fill up with water. Then it dictates the amount of water that goes into the machine. On the spin cycle the pressure system only monitors and notifies when all of water has gone. If a fault occurs they are then the washing machine won't spin because it thinks it is still full of water. This is completely opposite to the fault you have got.
If the water stops going in when the washing machine is turned off then that rules out a faulty water valve. If it starts to fill with water as soon as the washing machine is powered up but before a cycle is started it would seem to imply that the water valve in question has got a live and neutral supply when it shouldn't have. I know the earth faults and low installation faults can cause some strange behaviour.
If the water valve only started taking water once a cycle has been selected and started then it seems like for some reason the valve is being switched on when it shouldn't. This isn't the kind of fault that is likely to be easy to solve. I would recommend getting an engineer.

Many thanks Andy - was hoping it would be a simple fix but looks like not the case!
Thanks for your advice and taking the time to reply.
Hiya, I have exactly the same problem on the same machine. Filling up constantly thru the drawer on all cycles, inc spin and drain. Stops when machine turned off. Did you get to the bottom of it?
Many thanks, Joss
