Beko W/machine fills and drains immediately
Hi. I have a beko WMI 71641 that recently stopped draining. I replaced the pump to fix this. Since then I now have an issue where the water comes in to the machine to start filling the drum but appears to immediately be drained out via the outlet hose. I’ve checked the usual things - water pressure fine, water combining into detergent drawer ok, no pipe kinks, no filter blockages. The machine finally stops after a few mins with a tap with a line though it displayed. I know this implies no water coming in, but as I say I can see plenty of water is coming in…just can’t work out why it goes at ta Ishtar back out!
any suggestions gratefully received.
cheers
Daz

This thread was marked as solved. Here's a summary of the problem and the fix, generated from the discussion below.
Beko WMI 71641 fills and drains immediately after pump replacement
- The problem
- A Beko WMI 71641 washing machine had stopped draining, so the pump was replaced. After this, the machine began taking in water at the start of a programme but the water appeared to run straight out through the outlet hose. It then stopped after a few minutes and showed a tap symbol with a line through it.
- Likely cause
- The accepted reply points to siphoning from the drain hose setup, especially as the fault started only after the machine had been disturbed during the pump replacement. No other cause was confirmed in the discussion.
- What fixed it
- Check the drain hose installation for siphoning and correct its position/setup if necessary. The thread was marked solved, but the exact adjustment or repair carried out was not documented.
- Checks to try
- Water pressure checked and reported fine
- Water entering the detergent drawer checked and reported normal
- No pipe kinks reported
- No filter blockage reported
- Accepted advice was to check for siphoning
- Parts or tools mentioned
- Drain pump (already replaced before the new fault)

As the washing machine wasn't doing this before and has been disturbed the first thing to check is siphoning. Check this article out - especially the section titled, "siphoning water" - fills and drains at same time
