Bearings?

Hi

I have a Bush machine that is only 2 years old.

It has started to vibrate alot on full load when spinning.(Machine doesnt vibrate, it just seems to be drum)

It also was making a screeching sound but this has since stopped.

When I spin the drum I cannot hear any rumbling so not sure if it is drum bearings or not. I attach videos with it spinning and also turning the drum.

Only cost £200 so will probably buy another if bearings but want to make sure its nothing simpler?

Many Thanks

Hi Mike. For some reason your videos would not play on a PCs browser. The forum kept reporting that the format is not supported, even though it clearly does support .MOV files. I've tried converting them to a different format but this is much harder than you would expect and converting them to MP4 resulted in no sound.

Bizarrely though, the videos work perfectly okay on my Apple iPhone. So I did get to hear them. The first video shows that the bearings sound perfectly okay. The 2nd one sounded more like the noise was caused by something moving from side to side rapidly. Have you tried holding down the washing machine firmly or even sitting on it to see if the noise stops? If it does, it's something to do with the chassis or the feet. If the noise persists, then try carefully holding the drum or seeing if you can observe where the rattling is coming from.

It doesn't sound too bad considering there's a load inside. With laundry inside there tends to be quite a lot of shaking. But if you think something is not right, check all the motor fixings, and also check all the drum weights to make sure they are tight.

Is there anything inside the drum in that video?

Have tried everything but only makes the noise when spinning

Had heater out to check under drum but nothing there. Definitely coming from drum but don’t know what without taking it apart!

Another video attached but it’s just doing the same

Also try disconnecting from mains and bouncing and shaking the drum from side to side to see if you can detect anything loose and making a noise

Hi Andy

Videos we’re recorded on iPhone?

Thanks for the advice. The casing doesn’t move or vibrate. Just seems to be the drum. Shockers and springs all seem fine as well. Will try what you say

cheers
