Hi, Yesterday about halfway through the washing cycle 3 on my Hotpoint Ultima WT721 it stopped and I got error code F-10.

I turned it off got all the washing out turned it off and today tried to do another wash.

After about 30secs I got the F-10 code again, I've looked everywhere on the net and found nearly every other code but F-10 (typical) lol.

I'm disabled and can't afford to get it fixed, can anyone at least help me with the error code..

Many thanks in advance,

Dan.

This thread was marked as solved. Here's a summary of the problem and the fix, generated from the discussion below.

Hotpoint Ultima WT721 showing F10 during wash

The problem
A Hotpoint Ultima WT721 stopped about halfway through cycle 3 with fault code F10. On the next attempt, the same F10 code reappeared after about 30 seconds.
Likely cause
The accepted reply states that F10 usually means the pressure switch is not sensing, with the most likely areas to check being the pressure switch and the module connections. The original poster also suspected a possible drainage or soil pipe issue, but this was not confirmed.
What fixed it
The accepted advice was to check the pressure switch and module connections. The original poster then moved the outlet hose into a sink and reported that the machine was working at that moment, with plans to check whether the soil pipe was blocked. No final confirmed repair was posted.
Checks to try
  • Observed F10 fault code halfway through cycle 3
  • Fault recurred after about 30 seconds on a new wash attempt
  • Outlet hose was placed into the sink to test operation
  • Planned check of the soil pipe for blockage
Parts or tools mentioned
  • Pressure switch
  • Module connections
  • Outlet hose
  • Soil pipe

Safety: Take care when testing drainage arrangements, as there is a risk of flooding. Further diagnosis should be carried out by a suitably qualified appliance engineer.

I don't have the specific Hotpoint Ultima tech information on me at the moment but error F10 usually means "pressure switch not sensing: check switch an module connections". It's one of those vague errors, not a lot of help to DIY repairers.

Thanks for getting back with info! I looked up on the net about pressure switch and they also gave another bit of info that's not really for that code but might be the outlet pipe? Anyway I pulled the machine out and put the outlet in the sink. Now I know it's pretty risky like getting my kitchen flooded lol but it is working at the moment!

If it finishes I will check the soil pipe to see if it's blocked and if I find a solution to the problem I will post it so it may help someone else.

Many thanks,

Dan.
