Hotpoint Aqualtis F03 error

I have the error code f03 that is intermittent. I've changed the element but that hasn't cured it. It's strange that the machine often continues working for a while after the code apears (along with all the indicator lights flashing). Any suggestions welcome! thanks

Solution Summary

AI-generated from this discussion

This thread was marked as solved. Here's a summary of the problem and the fix, generated from the discussion below.

Hotpoint Aqualtis intermittent F03 error likely linked to NTC circuit

The problem
A Hotpoint Aqualtis washing machine was showing an intermittent F03 fault with all indicator lights flashing. The machine could often continue running for a while after the code appeared. The heater element was replaced but the fault remained. The original poster then stated that both the element and thermistor had already been changed.
Likely cause
The accepted forum advice linked F03 to the NTC circuit. As the element and thermistor had already been replaced without curing the fault, the most strongly supported explanation in the discussion is a connection fault or a break in one of the thin wires to that circuit.
What fixed it
Check the wiring and connections associated with the thermistor/NTC circuit for a poor connection or broken wire. The thread was marked solved, but no final repair confirmation was posted, so the exact fix was not confirmed.
Checks to try
  • Observed intermittent F03 fault
  • Indicator lights flashing when fault appeared
  • Heater element replaced with no cure
  • Original poster said thermistor had also been changed
  • Forum reply suggested checking for a connection fault or broken thin wire
Parts or tools mentioned
  • Heater element
  • Thermistor

Safety: Further diagnosis should be carried out by a suitably qualified appliance engineer.

Thanks for your reply. I've already changed both the element and thermistor. Would it likely be a wiring issue then?

It can be a connection fault or break inside one of the thin wires.
