Samsung AddWash WW10T654DLH turn on but freeze (calibration interruption also)

Good morning everyone, I have this Samsung AddWash washing machine, model code WW10T654DLH, with an induction motor. Last week, when starting any program, after LOAD DETECTION, the washing machine would go INTO PAUSE. I bought a new control board; in the menu, language selection appears, followed by a prompt to perform calibration. When I run the calibration, after about 20 seconds the display shows CALIBRATION INTERRUPTED. I checked the motor phases, all at 5 ohms, none grounded, and checked continuity on the cables running from the motor to the board, and it's there... could it be the drum turning too hard? Some sensor? Thanks

Good morning. On these Samsung EcoBubble/AddWash models, “calibration interrupted” usually means the control is not happy with what it sees from drum movement, water-level sensing, or a board/configuration issue. As you’ve already fitted a board, I’d avoid assuming the motor is the cause just from the 5 ohm readings.

1. Check the replacement PCB is the correct one and correctly configured A new Samsung board can sometimes need the exact part number/version or model coding to match the machine. If the machine now asks for language selection, it may be a virgin board, but if the wrong variant is fitted it can behave oddly during load detect/calibration. Double-check the full model code and board part number match exactly.

2. Try calibration with an empty drum Make sure the drum is completely empty, the machine is level, and nothing is trapped between drum and door seal. Turn the drum by hand. It should move smoothly with only normal belt/motor resistance. If it feels stiff, rough, or scraping, there could be bearing, drum, or foreign-object drag interrupting calibration.

3. Check the hall/tacho feedback side On inverter/induction-type Samsung motors, the control needs reliable motor feedback. Even if windings test OK, a faulty rotor position sensor / hall sensor or poor connector contact can stop calibration. Inspect the motor plug and PCB plug very carefully for spread pins, corrosion, or heat damage.

4. Check the pressure system If the pressure sensor or pressure chamber/hose is blocked or giving a false water-level reading, the machine can pause during load detect. Check the pressure hose for splits, kinks, soap sludge, or water trapped in it, and inspect the chamber for blockage.

5. Inspect wiring under movement Check the loom from motor to board and to the pressure sensor for broken conductors that only fail when the tub moves, especially near cable ties and bends.

Before inspecting internal parts, isolate the appliance from the mains. If the board coding is wrong, or if mains testing is needed, it’s best left to a qualified engineer. If you need parts, use the full model number at Spares4Appliances.

SAFETY FIRST: READ BEFORE ACTING ON THIS GUIDANCE

  • Never work on a live appliance

Always unplug it at the mains before going near it with any tools.

  • Never attempt gas work

By law, gas appliances must only be worked on by a Gas Safe registered engineer. If your fault involves gas, stop and call a professional. Do not attempt it yourself.

  • Watch for sharp edges

Outer panels are smooth, but internal parts have sharp machined edges. Wear protective gloves and arm sleeves.

  • Water appliances can leak

Turn off the water supply before disconnecting any hoses.

  • Know your limits

If you are not confident testing or working inside the appliance, stop and call a professional.
